Jd Shirts

That is an absolute belter, can you forward that onto the club and tell them to sort it out mate :)

That top is a bog-standard Adidas teamwear one, that you buy in bulk for your own team. I think it looks better than the Stoke, Sunderland or WBA ones, because it is so simple without bells and whistles, and daft Hearts-esque armbands added to mess it up.

I'd take that with white shorts and socks with three black Adidas stripes as a St Mirren strip any day of the week. Contact the club? No chance. My days of sticking my neb' in are over. I wouldn't even know who in the club is actually taking kit decisions for the future.

Red in a St Mirren home strip? Away and wash your mouth out with soap and water!

Sorry I meant - Red numbers. Should be White socks & Black Shorts.

We wore that combination on many occasions during the late 70's and 80's.

We wore Red numbers in '87 on an Adidas shirt in '87 and also in the Anglo Scottish Cup win on an Umbro shirt.

The "Scanlon-Macca-Zico" Adidas strip was as I described - White Arms, Black Shorts and White socks with Red numbers.

Went in the other day wae the missus tae try n get strips for the 2 boys they had none. So asked them if there was more coming in the wee lassie said she would go and find out, so a few minutes past she comes back over wae a guy in a suit and he asks what sizes told him 6-7 yr old and a 6-9 month (thinking there going to order in result), to which he replied nope you should have come in at start off the season to get them. Totally raging so safe to say I will never by another saints top again if jd sports is still dealing with them.

I too had a bad experience when buying the strip my son wanted, had to compromise for something else. Staff in shop didn't give a monkeys and it was in Paisley too.

Guess it is a hangover to Richard Atkinson's new Commercial Director appointment and probably seemed a good idea at the time.

The notion that you can't buy a top at the ground on match days is fatally flawed.

It has not worked, needs changing.

I heard the other week that the club have signed another 3 yr deal with JD sports, meant to post it earlier.

Pozbaird that top looks none to shabby, white shorts and socks and it's a belter

Wonder if the Fans Council have raised any of these concerns to the BoD.....

You would like to think that the club are aware of the problems that the fans are having trying to buy replica kit. If you don't get it in the 2 or 3 weeks at launch you are the knackered later. As mentioned at the beginning my sisters are unable to get their kids more St.Mirren stuff from JD.

Simply put it is unacceptable

I think with additional revenue coming into the club for sponsorship of the Dome from [email protected] it would suggest to me that they will be doing the kit again.

Might be a good move for the BoD financially with no risk associated with holding stock , but it sucks for many supporters.

Perhaps as an alternative we should just arrange for our own supporters to design and then sell our Adidas/Umbro/Nike replica kits through B&W Army and tell JD Sports to stick their stock where the sun don't shine.

The fans can win this. Simply don't buy this cheap shit that jd toss out for loads of run of the mill clubs down south. All they do is stick a different badge on it. Tell the board we want change and through the fans council we can force it. If nobody can get what they want and if the stuff is cheap anyhow we need change. Adidas from the catalogue would sell like hotcakes. Can you imagine how good the training gear would be also. It's time we voted for change here and if enough of us complain they will need to listen. Or maybe not maybe they will just take a few quid from jd and say get lost. Whatever happens jd are crap the strips are crap and not being able to buy a shirt on match day well its laughable

Or maybees....

This would be ideal. Any sort of "brand" such as puma/nike/Adidas would sell more, due to the general better quality of the kit and more recognisable brand. They would last hell of a lot longer with no sticky on shite as well

Seriously question.

Would fans prefer to buy a kit similar to what Poz has produced where a run of strips could be ordered with a part donation could be made to Youth Development & a local charity (eg Accord) rather than deal with JD Sports.

No hideous sponsors on the front. I'm also sure it would be much cheaper for everyone.

I know I would.

The bog standard off-the-shelf Adidas teamwear one looks the mutt's nuts - if Steven Thompson and Darren McGregor came running out our tunnel wearing those, I might discover latent Tom Daley tendencies that I never knew I had.

I'm sure the club will provide details at the AGM as to why jd sports havn't or won't supply to the supporters demands thus discouraging potential future supporters

and give details as to how the service and availability will improve

No they won t ,they have refused to divulge their commercial agreements, just dtate its a good deal

Betcha they say nought
