He has kept an ex Premier team in Championship , and lets not forget got pretty much what he asked for. I do rate Jack however concerned his role model is BR at Tic, as demonstrated neither seem to have a Plan B. Jack gets us promoted, beats eh Dons in Cup, then Maybe yes. Fergie transformed us, Jack has started well but as of yet achieved hee haw bar keeping us in Tier 2 Christ mate, you surely didn't expect him to get us promoted last season after his appointment ??? I would think it was all he can possibly have hoped to achieve !
shull
At least Aberdeen would be safe from Challenge Cup elimination & humiliation.

djchapsticks
Here's the thing, the prospect of losing Jack to Dundee in the summer was a worry. Dundee, in my mind at least, are without doubt a sideways step in managerial terms so it would be questionable to go there and would have pissed many of us off. When Jack signed his new deal, I mentioned somewhere that it gives us both a degree of financial security in compensation terms and it also wards off clubs who can't afford him. The only clubs in Scotland we are in danger of losing him to would be the two Edinburgh sides and Aberdeen and all of those would be a significant step up. If Aberdeen come calling, Jack will go and there's not a lot we can do. He'd be silly not to.

Lord Pityme
Football is a funny game, Ross took us to within a goal from potential relegation, now... looks like he is the favourite to follow in Fergie's footsteps... am I missing something here, isnt it the usual course of events that a coach/manager has to actually achieve something before getting a big opportunity..? strange times indeed. So has he achieved anything like Fergie did in his time here? short answer is no! What he has managed after roughly 30 signings is to improve the squad, improve our play and get results with a wee bit of inconsistency hemming us in. But what do i know, if Aberdeen stump up the compo then we will be quids in, allowing the new manager to address our weaknesses in January. i wonder if Scott will take his lead from Aberdeen, given Ross recently signed a bumper contract and deny them consent to talk to him..? shull
Not an odd slip up. Goalie has been making regular blunders in all his time at St Mirren. Even in the League Cup Final.

If they didn't they would have been playing at a much higher level. To single out one player for it is petty and vindictive, something you are all too quick to pounce on others for. Give it a rest it's tedious in the extreme.

billyg
Fergie did knock back Aberdeen , 12 months before he eventually went there. Even then he was a man with great confidence in his own ability , he knew a big club would come calling again. It will be interesting to see what JR does , should the situation arise ! Thats exactly my point, Ross hasnt even had a full season as a manager at ONE club, but is somehow the favourite to succeed McInnes. If they offer him the job good luck to him, but as a specialist in getting the right person for the right job I would ask what are his achievements/successes in the role he is being considered for..? a few decent months since August...? shull
What is this ' experience ' shite. Managers are maybe just good, bad or indifferent. Craig Brown has vast experience and is shite. Likewise, Walter Smith, without an absolute massive budget, he is excrement also.

Proving once again that your "experience" of football is somewhat limited- is this cause neither have won the Challenge Cup?
