Who's rape trial are you referring to?

The rape of his intelligence

A hard border with England as a result of Scexit will ruin the Scottish economy 👎

The strange thing it'll be the same Tory politicians who were arguing there was no need for one between the Ro1 & NI, that it could all be done electronically, until they decided it was more practical to throw the DUP under a bus, who will be arguing for a hard border as part of Project Fear (Part 2) - presumably Priti Patel is already smiling at the thought of starving us out.

I'd not bank on that saving you a second time......

3 days ago, the leader of the Scexit party at Westminster, fatcat millionaire banker, Ian Blackford, describes plans for a general election just before Xmas as “bonkers”.

Today he’s calling for an election on 9th December!

He doesn’t know whether he’s coming or going!

He’s a total idiot!

You're quoting selectively  Blackford said it was "bonkers" to accept Johnson's wheeze to rush his deal through committee stage in Parliament ahead of a December GE - he was still committed to having a GE as soon as possible once the threat of a "No Deal Brexit" had been resolved and if a Brexit extension was reached. Still at least your take on the latest twist in the saga was less pathetic than the official one from the Tory Party...

Quote

'Speaking to the BBC's Andrew Marr Show, Mr Cleverly sobbed about the Lib Dem-SNP bill: saying "It's clearly a gimmick.

"Their bill moves the election date by three days, takes the withdrawal agreement completely off the table."

He said the government had put forward proposals for a general election first. :bairn

*****************************

Blackford who prefers to be called a "humble crofter" these days :P is one of my least favourite SNP politicians but his position within the party shows that middle class dudes like yourself have nothing to fear from independence. As an aside his banking CV is impressive when compared to that of our current Chancellor and ex-dealer in Junk Bonds, Said Javid - only one of them nearly brought the world's economy down!

PS - I'm disappointed you let another post go with without a dig at Alex Salmond, your venom is slipping these days Cap'n, take off the slippers and get your "dancing shoes" polished up - Independence will be settled one way or another within the next few years but will obviously be dependant on how Brexit is resolved.

And how to you work that out ? So if Brexit fails ... which will take about 3 /5 years to know you think the Gov will just let Scotland go on a 50/50 ref ? Or if it works ....Indy is dead. Either way we are stuck in the union ... be nice if the opposition could simply unite rather than a powderpuff ignite...

Brexit election: Government to 'look at options'

The Downing Street hope would be that if Johnson gave categoric assurances about a fixed election date, thus ruling out the possibility of a drift into a no-deal Brexit, the opposition parties would pledge to not table any amendments.

The party with most to lose seems to be Labour faced with the perfect storm of being skweezed in the cities by sophisticates like @antrinand fellow cross-dresser Eddie Izzard & in the rust-belts by followers of the late Keith Chegwin and mummified Joan Collins.

There will be a Trade Deal with open borders negotiated between the UK & the EU - "No Deal" is dead in the water.

If  the Scottish Electorate vote for the SNP/Green parties in sufficient numbers then I believe we will have the mandate to force a second IndyRef which could be carried out before Brexit in implemented, we can decide who we want to be aligned with - one of the 20 (from 27) EU countries with a population of less than 12 million or England which has a population 10 times that of Scotland and a history over the last 40 years of not being much bothered over how we fare - I know how I'll vote.

I don't believe opposition to Scottish Independence is as entrenched as it was 5 years ago, Labour leader JC & his Shadow Chancellor have been ambiguous on the matter, for the Tories even the soon to be departing for the sake of her family erm consultancy work Ruth Davidson  softened her stance on the issue in the latter stages of her leadership period. The Tories have just ditched Ulster, plenty of their MPs down south have indicated they'd be just as happy to ditch us, "friends of the Queen" would be much more circumspect about revealing her thoughts on the matter so I'm optimistic that a Scottish government that was looking to play a positive role in Europe could get & win a second Independence referendum.

It might not work out the way I hope but we'd be mad to stay if we get another chance to quit the UK!

Ok Bud but by your logic we should have already left the EU as 17.4 m gave a mandate.. the Gov will play a lot nastier than 2014 and Scots are to divided. Even 59 seats will not equate to 50 % votes cast due to our stupid 1st past the post
