Lord Pityme
With Shankland now having scored three times more goals than our whole team by September!, being touted for a full Scotland debut as well as tracked by the OF and clubs down south...How does the decision to splash out on signing McAllister stack up, given in his own words he expects to be carrying his injury/ fitness problems for as long as he plays?Wasn't it obvious who we should have signed? Ayrshire Saints
You are bringing this up for the umpteenth time yet you still can't provide a shred of evidence that we paid the same or more in wages and signing fees for McAllister as Utd paid for Shankland. Until you can prove it was feasible stop banging on about it as if it was. You also make a huge assumption that the player himself would have come back to a club where by his own admission things didn't work out. The fact the OF were shadowing his progress PRIOR to him signing for Utd suggests to me they have paid way more than we could have offered him Championship club or not. You keep making out we had a choice McAilister or Shankland which imo is total made up bollocks !

I don't think he would have come to us. Time to move on with this. Kyle has talent, he has pace and can score goals. Give him time.

Lord Pityme
Luvin the bollocks theory that Shankland somehow wants to see out his career in the championship. I think some just don't like having the massive mistakes the board makes pointed out to them.We sold. Then bought back a permanently injured player who is guess what? Yes that's right struggling for games and fitness, when the highest scorer in the land is playing his trade in the championship.

munoz
Shankland made an arse of it at a few clubs hence he ended up at Ayr United. It wasn't until he decided it really was last chance saloon that he got his act together. I liked him as a player and could see he was a natural goalscorer but his dedication didn't look there at that point. Whether or not he can score regularly in the Premiership is still open to debate at this point.

guinness
If he had come to us and not scored in his first couple of matches the crowd would have been on his back immediately. He could have been destroyed by it and ended up the fat lad he was last time with us. Better for him to give us a wide berth.

Tommy
Assuming they will be an other village idiot on the Morton page on P&B banging on about not signing him Since he was never our player, assume the Dons fans will be raging as well for releasing him

Proof Mccalister was signed for our "biggest fee in decades" Proof that when Goodwin said Mccalister is "fully fit" after signing in the summer it was a lie Proof that Shankland would have been interested in a return to SMFC even though he reportedly turned down options in England and SP to pick United LPM's go to - absolutely anything negative to talk down the SMFC board. How raging he will be when GLS and SMISA complete BTB & go down in our history books as the heroes that moved our club to fan ownership. Indeed, the fact that he was ever with us is irrelevant. The point is that LPM advocated that we sign him in the summer from Ayr United when he was available instead of spending cash on other players. norman
We couldn't afford Shankland. Dundee United are a big club who are paying him a lot if money. He isn't happy to be hanging around the championship, but he expects to get promoted with United, then do well when they get up to the Premier. He certanly didnt want to sign for any club that would be fighting rekegation. Shankland is 24, he's not a young kid anymore. He lost a couple of seasons due to some bad decisions and now he needs to make his money and kick on. Good luck to him.

DougJamie
Dundee Utd are about 15% bigger than us in turnover but have far more debt, the fact the pay more in wages to some players is due to the fact they have to get back to the top league...... Shankland is totally unproven at Saints level, he has never played in the top division, the boy at Peterhead can score goals at lower league level to
