    Well he didn't

Having read the dutch interview the usual hatchet job by a tabloid who Tess slates in the interview.

My and i hope most reasoned people's reading of the article tells me that The Record have chosen to make the most out of Tess's cultural take as a dutchman and shape his honest comments into what COULD be read as an assassination on all things St Mirren and Paisley.

"St Mirren Park is just six years old, nice but nothing special. But you find funny things about it, such as the away team’s dressing-room. The coat-hooks have been deliberately fixed high up so our opponents feel smaller. The place is mostly dark, and that seems to give us a psychological advantage as well."
Well this ain't working. Let's put the coat hooks 6 ins off the floor and set up some spotlights in time for the Accies at the weekend. First ten minutes, half of them will have done their backs in and the other half will be stumbling about bumping into the hoardings.

Is this the young lad that played left back against ICT?
If so then yes on the face of 90 mins that i saw he didn't look great, however not only is it hard to judge on just 90 mins, but even harder to judge when he is playing in a team that performed so badly with such a low tempo, no protection and no movement from midfield.
Problems run deeper than one young kid at the start of his career.

Aye, there can indeed be exciting games when you get to a true relegation trouser troubling day like Motherwell away. However, while this season looks certain to throw up at least a couple of these games again, what about the utter shitfests we all need to sit through that see us end up in these games? What about not seeing a home win all season yet? What about the inability to hold onto a lead or.... Mid-table safety or getting into the top 6 boring? How come? To achieve that we would have won many more games during the season, and we would have enjoyed many more beers on a Saturday after seeing St Mirren defeat opponents home and away.
I would love it, absolutely love it, to be 'bored' in 6th place, and watching other clubs soil their pampers while we took on the top clubs post-split. Knowing we could finish no lower than sixth, and planning for that place pot money, AND knowing our top flight status was assured - a BoD with any gumption could actually plan in advance for the following season in regard to contracts, budgets, identifying areas of weakness and get some signing targets lined up in the crosshairs. Everything needn't be left until we knew what division we were going to be in - last minute scrambling around for signings as usual.
Being 'bored to fcuk' away from the relegation spots is what allows a club like St Johnstone to be a stable, solid looking outfit, which is exactly where I thought we'd be - after clearing the debt, not having the upkeep costs of a crumbling stadium, having dedicated training facilities and a modern ground to attract decent signings, and a cup win to build upon too.
We aren't where they are though. Or where ICT are. We are dressing up a trouser troubling finale as being exciting with a want-away BoD increasingly looking like they are leading us down a blind alley that will see Rangers/Hibs, Queens and Falkirk royally kick our sorry arses in the Championship next season.

Just back from my week away including my first Saints game. Was disappointed not to see Sadlier play but got a chance to have a chat with him and with a couple of weeks of no football it was decided not to play him. He is very happy at the club though.
Thought the football was far too route one and was crying out for some creativity in the middle, which was far too flat and one dimensional. The thing that really struck me though, was the lack of tempo, allowing ICT so much time on the ball.
Apart from that, my son and I both enjoyed it and thanks for the warm welcome.
    Hopefully 3 points today

In an ideal world yes, but we can also ask "where did the 30,000 go that attended the Scottish Cup final in 1987?". The bottom line is that the world has changed since the Fergie era, far too expensive for many, football is poor, TV now showing more games than ever, TV scheduling of matches and competition in other sports/activities. There is a loyal support but many things are pushing fans/potential fans away. The recent actions of our BOD doesn't help.

In other sports there is no segregation between fans but then the crowds don't give their team, the opposition team or the opposition fans the abuse football fans give out, it's more about supporting and lifting your own team than abusing others at the game and IMHO that's why there isn't as much trouble between fans at say rugby, darts and cricket etc and that is why they can drink alcohol and mix with each other with no major problems

Not specific to this post TC, more in general..... for what it's worth I do respect your ability to keep upbeat, glass half full perspective etc. Nothing wrong at all with that outlook on life in general. Yes, we are where we are, and it's true you can choose to be downbeat about it or take a more positive view. Name any single fact about our season to date (league position, goals scored, goals conceded, signings, managers....) and if one person says black another will say white, and vice versa. That's the very nature of diverse opinion and it's rarely better observed than on football forums.
One thing I would like to comment on though is that for some it's not just about making the best of the current situation. It's about aspirations, enjoyment, ambition, entertainment, pride, opportunities lost. Is it possible, and I ask the question with all respect, that as a club we are just so used to being down among the dead men that some (maybe yourself?) are so resigned to it that you have forgotten to look to the stars occasionally? Sometimes it's not just about making the best of being in the gutter.
So yes, full marks for continually taking a positive spin, but I do hope you can empathise with the utter frustration that some other fellow fans feel, particularly in such a weak top tier.

It is little wonder the games is failing to grow. Rules only apply to clubs outside of Ibrox and Parkhead. It is all about "tradition". That is to say, Irish historical bullshit and out and out bigotry. It is what the world wants to see, if you believe the powers that be. Out and out sectarianism at Hampden a few weeks ago and no action taken. Good god, St Mirren were fined £30K for not having enough kids on the bench in a cup tie, a few years ago! If those sickening "songs" we're sung at NSP or Fir Park, the authorities would come down like a ton of bricks. Not against the bigot bros. we really are a tiny insular backwater in Europe. I am truly disgusted.
I hope King the criminal wins his Ibrox takeover battle. Watch the Murray like fawning by The Record, Sun etc. campaigning for The SFA etc to break there own rules, again, in order to accommodate the criminals, claiming it is good for the game. A toxic, corrupt new club, gratefully allowed to do anything they like, by the so called leaders of the game. A great example for the children and future generations of fans.

I was at the Rugby on Sun.Big signs outside telling people not to bring their own drink in were ignored. The Polis and Stewards stood by watching thousands of people going thru the turnstiles with their cairy oots and never batted an eye lid.Huge Bars inside selling "official" bevy, big screens in the bars so you don't miss any of the action. No segregation, people passing their bottles, cans, hip flasks to strangers sitting next to them.Atmosphere? It was electric, breath taking at times.Sure the only songs sang were the Anthems but it's not only singing that creates atmosphere. The roar of the crowd as the wee winger makes a lung bursting charge for the try line is louder than any version of When The Saints that i've heard. Also singing isn't part of the rugby match.Go to any Gala v Hawick or London Irish v Bath and tell me how many songs you'll hear.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will repeat it next year.
Now what was the question?Bevy and no segregation at the Fitba........No thanks, keep it the way it is just now plz.
My biggest complaint about the experience was the way the event was policed.Fans drinking in the street, fans pishing in the street in front of the polis. In fact across from the Roseburn Bar is a wall then a bit of waste ground. The wall is probably about 4 foot high. The polis were actually directing fans to this outdoor toilet to do their business!!!Let's see a football fan heading to Tynecastle have a pish in the street and see what happens to them.
Anyway,as I said,a brilliant day out which will be repeated in the future.

First home league win of the season will be the game we pump the Sevco in the playoff to stay up. Their fans riot, burn our shite, soul-less, winless dinkydome to the ground. We collect the insurance money and build a mini-Tynecastle style stadium on the site of the old stadium on Love Street. The BoD get tae' and new owners build a Las Vegas sized casino resort on the site of our barbequed dinkydome, which generates massive income for the club, and creates 3,000 jobs for cocktail waitresses and associated staff in the hotel.
St Mirren wins, Paisley wins. Remember where you read it first.

This thread epitomises everything I love about the BAWA! For about 3 pages before the game starts most people were full of optimism, with most posters saying it was going to be the day when we got the first home win of the season. Looking at the stats for us and the stats for ICT this season it would seem the main reason for thinking we'd win 2-0 was we were due a win at home and had signed a few wingers and strikers during the transfer window.
The line ups are announced and the first pangs of doubt begin to creep in.
By the 3rd minute of the game it begins to look like ICT will win. 14 pages of gloom and despair follow on from the pages of pre-match optimism.
Saturday was a bad day at the office. Teale was naive in setting out to go for a win starting with 2 strikers. Transfer dealing also are looking open to question. Dayton looks like he has been bought to go straight into the starting XI, and Arquin possibly has as well (depending on Thommo's fitness and form?!). If Sonupe and Sadlier have been brought in to be potential impact subs I am a bit underwhelmed that these are our replacements for losing Kenny McLean and 5 or 6 other players.
I don't think Motherwell can maintain the bad run they are on indefinitely (1 point out of their last 18). Ross County will get a lift from drawing level with Motherwell and getting to within 3 points of us. Its slightly worrying that with 12 games to play this season we are still waiting on our talisman getting his match fitness back and breaking his duck for the season and hoping our new signings from EPL U20 development squads get up to speed as they get 20 minute run outs as subs.
Here's hoping Teale and Longwell don't make too many other odd starting XI + bench selections and we bounce back quickly from a poor show and poor effort on Saturday.
