    1. OK I should have ended the statement with a question mark rather than a full stop. It is however not a "very odd" argument as shown by the fact that three other governments mentioned plus other non-government organizations are/were willing to do so.
    2.  I remain convinced that a managed run-down of TC would've been a better course than the one chosen by the government, the current repatriation operation is hardly going to be costless. As for bailing out the banks 10 years ago, my main objection there were only a few high profile dismissals while the industry itself was essentially left untouched, the precise cause of the next banking crash is  as yet unknowable but the idea that it won't happen is bizarre - the Government should have demanded a great deal more in return for that bail-out..
    3. That's a pretty glib statement.

You can question the DoF's worth in as much as WHEN we assembled a squad and who found those players while still being openly delighted with our team's performance. I don't think the two are mutually exclusive.
Let's ALL enjoy the win. Including the DoF. (It's not like he's doing much else)! 😂

FFS. Just try and enjoy the journey. You never know, you might find it quite good fun.
Another one who feels the need to mansplain how to follow a professional football team (the bits in bold).

Just a little reminder to everyone that this poster is actually a fully grown man, who gets his little joy in life from picking fights with other St Mirren fans on this website
This has been going on for years without really any point to it all as far as I can see.
You would think from his posts he is about 12, but no. An adult man behaving like this season after season.
As they say, there's always someone worse off than yourself

If we can't do better, I would crave a couple of years of mid table mediocrity to get us established and allow us to start the next season's recruitment before others. Then we can dream.

I'd imagine that it's his opinion, based on what he thinks constitutes a supporter.
So he's perfectly entitled to express it, whether it's correct or not.

Never a good word, why are you actually here as you are no supporter
Sammy went to be a coach of a big club probably on several times his Saints salary
Rice went to be manager of his own club
Nicholl has gone from coach to assistant
Where is the requirement for tin hats, all have done well for themselves, got promotions and moved on, no bad blood or publicity. If you get a chance to step up you take it

Everyone seems quite certain that Goody would take the Saints job (If it became available... which is HASNT)

Do you not remember that Jim knocked back the Saints job last season when JR went down south?

And also why are we even discussing this.

    We have a manager

    His name is Oran Kearney
And until we hear otherwise, he is still firmly at the wheel

While I don't disagree that this is money coming in it is £150k a year over 5 years and comes with the giving up of land  previously expected to be sold to hold 21 houses so replacing one income for another as well as naming rights to the stadium.

It also equates to 7500 paying punters per year, that takes us 3/4 home games to reach and everything above that is extra earning for us.
Lots of ways to spin a story, why are yours almost always negative LPM?

During these 3 years have Hamilton improved (1 point off relegation)? - for we certainly have over these 3 years.
Hamilton will have less revenue from attendances than we will etc etc. Watch and see how their financial figures stack up in their next accounts .. . . a year ago they had £460,024 in debts.
N.B. When you only use one tract to make an argument it is not a very good way to argue . . .

There's an extra bit in one of the papers I found amusing:
"I remember talking about Cammy Smith at the time when I was trying to do a bit of wheeling and dealing to try and get one out and one in.
“And it was all ‘Oh but Cammy was our Player of the Year last year’.
“But you look at the teams that were looking to take those players, it was all Championship teams. I think that really tells you a lot."
Yes Alan - but we couldn't even get Championship teams to take the duds you had landed us with! We had to send Heaton back to non-league and Kpeweka followed him and has now been binned!
Good to see him once again saying he isn't bitter.

How many f**king times do we need to hear this pish.
    Allan, son, nobody is disputing the squad needed major surgery. The issues are;
    1. The players you did sign were an utter load of shite. You know nothing about scouting and clearly have no good contacts - maybe just some guys who pretend to be your mate in order to cash in when they sell you aforementioned shite.
    2. You have zero man management skills. In fact, you come across as an annoying prick that nobody would want to work for.
    3. You have zero tactical knowledge. You couldn't beat an amateur side or a non-league side because your players had no idea where to even stand or pass the ball.
Look forward to a resounding chorus of "Are you watching, Allan Stubbs?" when we beat United and stay up.

Who's been "had" and how ?
If that's the type of contract he was offered and signed (and none of us know what his contract says it's all made up) then it would appear that in your scenario OK would be perfectly entitled to exercise his right under that contract so not seeing how any one will have been "had" in the situation you imagine.
I presume you are saying you would rather we gave extended contracts with no clauses where we would need to pay big compensation payments if things were not working out ???

All hypothetical nonsense anyway lets get right behind OK and the team tonight and see where we are. I have a hunch a good few are itching for us not to win tonight to enhance their anti OK / board agenda but I will back any manager ahead of a crunch game rather that sitting as a kangaroo court before a ball is kicked.

My opinion is that Brad Lyons is one reason why we are no longer constantly over-run and out-fought in midfield. He's been a decent addition to the squad and it has been unpleasant to see him singled out on social media and also during games among the St Mirren 'support'... Ryan Edwards was a trier but hardly ever found a St Mirren player with a pass. People seem to forget that its not that long since we had guys like Hodson, Paul McGinn being played in midfield alongside Edwards before we brought in Dreyer, McAllister, Tansey and Lyons during the window and saw Ryan Flynn return to form.

Oh, for the love of god.

There were reasons for the “weakened” side and none of them were to do with throwing the towel in.

Ferdinand for McKenzie - GMac was not fit to play two games in 4 days having been out a year.
Corbu for McGinn - it was stated on here that McGinn was carrying a knock and wasn’t fit to play 90 mins.
    McGinn for Lyons - upgrade.
McPherson for Dreyer - Tactical as we expected to have to defend more and this isn’t Dreyer’s strength.
Kellerman for Flynn - Flynn was injured. Ethan would likely have filled this role but was suspended.
Cooke for Mullen - Mullen has just played his first game in a while and Kearney clearly felt 3 games in a week would be too much.

I know that a huge part of your reason for being is to dig the BOD and the manager for anything that allows you to express whatever pent up aggression/frustration you have but you’re barking up the wrong tree on this one.

Maybe Kearney could’ve risked a couple of the above players but you would have been the absolute first to get on his back if we’d lost anyway and the likes of Flynn were then out for the Accies game or more.

Incidentally, the performance against Celtic with this weakened team was no better or worse than previous efforts.

Dry your f**king eyes and get over it.

This forum is a barrel of laughs, did we play a weakened team, Yes. Does this allow for a refreshed stronger side on Saturday , Yes.
If we had played a stronger side there is no guarantee that it would have taken anything but it would then be a tired side on Saturday when if we lose the same people on here moaning would be moaning that we should have played a weaker side  to save the legs.
    Some people are never satisfied!
At the January transfer window we were 10 points behind 11th, we are now 11th and 2 points ahead of 12th, improvement has been made and will hopefully continue KTF
