Guest TPAFKATS
Actually I did know that but forgot. Either way, the guy was put on there for admitting to having a stash of child porn on his PC. Of course he wrote a couple of good tunes a while back so people make allowances for that. I take your point about how the arts seem to make allowances for sexual perversions among those who have reached a certain level of critical acclaim. In this particular case, IIRC, townshend didn't have child porn on his computer. cambiebud
I'm a member of the SNP but I've lost faith in my own MSP and MP due to lack of support they provided to my Mum who was one of two ladies driving the recent Mesh campaign in Scotland. The only one that has spoken out about how the mesh review was carried out was Alex Neil. All the support has came from Labour and Tory MSPs, which pissed me off as I have backed the SNP for many years, and when my family needed them to take action they not only let us down but hundreds of others in Scotland. It's left a real sour taste in my mouth and I will be resigning my membership as I don't have faith. So for the council elections, I'll be backing the greens or an independent I think. However for the General Election, I think I will still vote SNP as I think they are the only credible option at WM for the seats for Scotland. Hoping for independence one day, and for lots of new political parties to emerge on the back of that. That last paragraph is spot on. I was cornered by some Labour activists last week and made that precise point to them. The only hope for Scottish Labour is for them to ditch their southern party and back independence. Many of their own members agree with that but won't break the party line. Maybe after June when it looks like they will be wiped out down south, the penny will drop. Henry McLeish has said as much, but wee Kezia is still following the misguided belief that she can beat the Tories at their own game. June could be a real game changer for Scottish Labour. dave.j
Mrs May refusing to take part in a TV debate tells it's own story. If you go through old YouTube videos, Corbyn is fantastic at debating and would destroy May and her policies on such a platform. Because she is way out in the lead and going on a TV debate could be risky if she doesn't do well. She is assuming that she will still be way out in the lead even if a TV debate goes ahead without her. If the election was in the balance then she would be more inclined I would imagine. There should be a rule which forces the leaders to go on the debate. In saying that, any debate should only involve leaders who are actually standing for Westminster.... David Mc
Just invite Alex Salmond to the debate as a Westminster MP and former FM. I'd enjoy the May/Corbyn/Salmond encounter for entertainment alone.

We dont elect PMs, we elect MPs and parties. Therefore the leaders of each major party at WM should be present. You said all this stuff yourself. Now you want to change your mind? His story is ludicrous. The last time I heard such improbable bullshit was a woman called Mary attemtping to convince locals in the middle east that instead of shagging outside of wedlock she had been impregnated by "god". That was a cracker. Pete's story is right up there.

IMHO naturally. I say that as someone who voted 'yes' the last time, and thought that initially, the SNP as an entity were doing a decent job of governing what they were responsible for governing. Now, I think as an entity they have taken their eye off the ball, are relentlessly pursuing the one thing, and are, in the process, pissing off people who are now scunnered with elections, votes, reffyrendums and politicians in general. What is it up here now, seven various elections in jig time? Most of that is pretty accurate . Simply not the time for another referendum yet and as you say , they could f**k it up , as the next one will likely be the last . .

Foolish act by Townsend nevertheless but his son did confirm that it wasn't for a nefarious purpose. . However , way off topic with this. .
