Stu
It was an incredible goal, I wondered why he was shooting and thought he'd blootered it over. Even when it hit the net I didn't think he'd scored until the crowd reacted! Definitely the best goal I've seen at the new ground (I wasn't at the Hearts game where Carey scored his screamer). Most of the ones mentioned on here were great individual strikes but yesterday was fantastic build-up followed by an excellent shot.
rabuddies
I actually thought Smith's shot in the first half was a goal all the way and that Mallan's was going into the stand. I was struck dumb for a moment when it went in then I was on my feet dancin' with the rest of you. I'm going to miss him when he eventually goes. Nigerian Panda
18 hours ago, Drew said: This deserves its own thread. I reckon Mallan's 3rd (yes, it WAS a hattrick) is the best goal I have seen scored at the 2021 Stadium. Arguably, it is the best goal I have ever seen scored by a St Mirren player. I'll need to see it again, but I had to give myself a wee pinch to check that it actually happened. I was sitting just to the left of the goal in the South Stand, so had a fantastic view of it. It was one of these goals that you simply have to shake your head at, as it just didn't seem plausible. I could see the white of his eyes, and Stevie knew exactly what he was looking to do with that strike. Arise, Sir Stevie Mallan - what a memorable hit that was! I've played the game at all levels and honestly that is the best goal I've ever seen. The build up ... the strike .... the distance ... if it had been Messi this goal would have been shown all over the World. As a goalkeeper by the way .... you just wave bye bye to those ... yesterdays game was the best I've seen the team I love, support, for many a year ... just a pity it's not the start of the season. God bless Stevie Mallan good chance he will be away next season but I will always remember the GOAL .... the next best ..... remember Alister McLeod scoring a goal against Cowdenbeath .... trapped the ball from a corner outside of the box the just chipped it into the top right hand corner .... quality!
