St Mirren v Motherwell SPFL PREMIERSHIP 7/12/24

A really dreadful game of football that in all honesty, neither team really deserved to win.

Difference being, one team switched off before the end & one did not.

No pass-marks across the team or management but I really have to wonder about the subs. Ayunga & Mandron consistently offer next to nothing while a young, hungry lad sits on the bench.

You beat me to it, but I'd take out the next

That was truly awful. Another game where we had , I think , 1  shot at goal. As always after an hour we take off our quick players and bring on a lump of wood. Ten minutes later we bring on the other lump of wo od. We then do not threaten to score again. We start to get deeper and deeper until the goalkeeper throws one in the net. Seems after week but we must not criticise the manager as he, aparentely,  is a genius we must not say a word ag ainst.

Tell them they’re both free to leave for nothing in January. Recall Offord, give Mooney a chance.

genuinely think I would have contributed about the same as they did off the bench in the last couple of games.

Could see that goal coming we were woefull when they got the free kick I turned to my  grandson and said this is a goal it was f**kng laughable I really don't know what people are watching who think we played well first half we couldn't pass the ball  put the ball out the park more often than not just basics and we couldn't do it we were worse than an amateur team.

Well done motherwell made it a shitfest and won it at the death and superpb playing of the ref.

This sums up the game for me.

In the First-Half, I said to my parents that it was looking like one of those days when nothing goes your way.

I've heard a lot of praise about Motherwell this season but in my opinion, going by their performance, attitude and antics in this game, they would get the "beautiful game" stopped.  They are masters of shithousery on a grand scale and have been for many, many years.

I thought both goalkeepers were the best of two woeful performing teams.

We need to be able to overcome teams like Motherwell and not be dragged down by their nonsense.  Easier said than done, I know.

Failed to see the point in the long balls today that just hung in the wind. We never utilise Olusanya by getting the ball in front of his feet instead he is chasing lost causes.  We need to be replacing our 3 criminals ex players in January as we need another option up front.

We also need to sort out our set pieces we offered nothing yesterday, free kick we had was similar to one they scored and I have seen stronger pass backs.

Orfford should stay rest of the season in Ireland for his development bring him back in next year as it looks like he's benefitting from the move. Mooney needs to get game time I would be giving him a loan move too.

No argument, should have won. No reason to panic though

A very poor Motherwell team sensed the game was there for the winning and went for it. Awful tactical move bringing on the two so called forwards, neither of whom could even trap the ball never mind score. Free transfers next month please. The next run of games doesn’t look too promising either, given our normal away form. Just when the team was looking good as well, after the Dons game.

That seems to be the problem that needs solving, the goalie is improving (not enough yet but definitely stepping up since early season) and the midfield might yet gel a bit better, however everyone is under pressure when we have a forward line that can't or won't make the ball stick up front and keep the opposition back in their own half for somewhat longer periods.  We also seem to be vulnerable late in the game, which might be a fitness issue or a difficulty in adjusting once subs are made.  Whatever the reason we do seem to lose our way in the last 10 minutes of quite a few matches.

Our two most skillful players up front are McMenamin and Olusanya and maybe someone at the club should take the time to introduce them to each other as they don't seem to be able to work together yet.
