Drew
I'm happy with this. Been very assured recently, and still developing. Wilbur
I was one of Jack's sternest critics earlier this season, especially after his stupid red card at Falkirk, but I now agree he has done enough to earn this extension. Humble pie, yum yum !
shull
Should have got a 3 year contract for melting serial cheat, Lee Miller.

div
Yeah good news. Jack is developing into a very good player. Just needs someone sensible beside him, or a nutjob like Gary MacK.
Soctty
Delighted with this. Have been a fan of Jack's since he came into the team two years ago. He has made mistakes along the way, but has the potential to become a very good central defender. Fared far better beside Gary Mack, a helping hand and experienced head. Seems Jack Ross sees the potential in the youngster.

DougJamie
JB was a victim of the last regime and simply lacked confidence, that's has been reinstalled an he is a key, top player for us
gazah
Good news, with the current managerial teams coaching he can become a really solid CB! Did really well when he stepped in for Davis and seemed to grow in confidence as well...
Bud the Baker
Any gossip on whether we tried/are trying to tie him down for longer? He's had his ups & downs but at 21 if you rate him then he's worth 2 years. Anyway glad to see another member of our season-end side will be there in August! Surely two years should have been a minimum offer? If he carries on developing he will walk for peanuts if his contract is up next summer. And if he doesn't continue developing we're stuck with him for a year longer. I think he's likely been offered a year to see if he can cement a first team place. Got to imagine we'll have three or maybe four center backs fighting for position again. I'm in no doubt if he was offered two years he'd of taken it. Frank McGarvey' wonky legs
Absolutely agree, however there is the possibility that the player didn't want a 2 year deal. Does he have a gentlemans agreement that he can go in January if an offer comes in?
Lord Pityme
So Eckersley at 32 is worth a 2 year deal , but a 21-year old Baird who has been mentioned by pundits as a possible full international gets just one year? Two steps forward.....

Who mentioned him as a future international? Was it Caixinha in the same interview saying Celtic wouldn't win the title next season?
Soctty
Jack Baird is a good young centre back who is still improving. Why the desire to mock him? Has great potential, despite a few grumbling voices on here, some of whom seem peeved at being proven wrong regarding his being handed a new contract... DLBud
This is a good deal for Jack and the club IMO. The reality is that GMac resigning will be a priority and Jack brought Davis in for a reason in January. Whether he comes back or not is irrelevant as we'll surely look to sign another experienced CB?As good as Jack has been recently I still believe GMac and AN other would be our CB pairing next season. Might be wrong though.
