kevo_smfc reacted to davidg in Stats Analysis Predicts 11Th Place Finish
    Stats are a nonsense.
Was the prediction made from form over the last few games?
If the stats were published 4 or 5 weeks ago they'd probably have us heading for 3rd.
After 21 games we're joint 8th, that's all that matters right now.

My son was very adept at getting any door in the house open at the age of 2 with the aid of his little plastic chair, didnt take him long to work that one out. Interesting to see all the super parents casting doubt on how well looked after the wee boy was. He could have left at 9;30 or 06:00, and if the dad is a suspect then why are the police combing parks, streets and fields? and again, why would he take only one child?. Best to see how this plays out before proferring chit-chat base judgements

League Cup winning legend. Popped up with a last-gasp winner against Accies, or who knows what might have happened. I have no inside knowledge if Lee Mair was 'trouble' in the dressing room or not. I similarly have no knowledge about the truth behind Sir Alex of Ferguson's departure, nor do I now care about the manner of Ian Ferguson's departure to TCFKAR.
Point being - thanks to Lee Mair, like the others mentioned above, for the good times, for being part of the good times, for your contribution to the good times.

    Lee Mair played his part.
    Now, gie's a signing.

Aye there will be some super strikers up beside the jazz mags. Wylde has the right profile - the type of player well worth a punt. Still young and probably the last chance saloon at this level. The boy has pace and that alone makes you a danger in Scotland where pace is a sadly lacking commodity. Lets give him a good few games to settle in before making a judgement and as for the couple of roasters on his case on this thread already just piss off back to Ibrox - he walked away get over it !

The key difference in our style of play now is that we no longer build from the back. I can't recall exactly how many times I watched through my fingers as McAusland took a short pass from Samson and dithered before dropping a team mate in the shit with a poor pass during that time but there were a good few. Not blaming the player mind you as he was following his manager's instructions and trying to play football. We did have success with that style, that cannot be in question, but what is also true, as has been pointed out, is that teams sussed us out and started pressing us higher up the park which put an end to the build from the back philosophy and reintroduced "route one".
Problem is you need pace to play 4-5-1 so the wide men can get down the flanks and turn it quickly into 4-3-3. We had success with Teale down the right and Isma had real joy drifting wide but we've had a succession of full back and central midfielders playing the wide roles this season and it simply doesn't work with Thommo often cutting an isolated figure up front.
We're a lightweight team who have very little pace and are now lacking in confidence. Not a great combo and I'm slowly coming round to the idea that what we need to change is not so much the style of play but the manager, sad to say.

I'm the same mate. We need this style of player in the team but one who doesn't punch balls in the pen box, elbow players off the ball and repeatedly give the ball away 35 yards from goal.
We really need a good quality defensive midfielder.

Who do you want the club to sign?
I would love to see us sign a midfielder with the scoring power that Andy Dorman had when he was with the club
Any player(s) you'd be happy to wave goodbye to?
David Barron. How many years and how much money have we wasted on David. He is a decent enough player but his injury record is appalling
Summer signing(s) that have still to prove themselves?
Seeing as Dilo was only signed as a back up, that leaves Grainger as the only 1 left as far as i'm aware.
Which player(s) must you absolutely keep during the window?
    John McGinn!!!!
Is there a player(s) who has pleasantly surprised you this year?
Darren Mcgregeor, Jason Naismith and Sean Kelly.
If money was no object, who would you love to see at your club?
Eden Hazard. Hazard on the left Teale on the right offers plenty of pace. From the SPL probably Ryan Gauld.
Favourite signing of all time for your club?
Would have said Isma but since he was only here for a short time I will say Thommo

All hibs players released will have been let go for either not been good enough, and/or high earners and/or not training hard enough. Taiwo has previous for attitude and vine is gash/wage thief.

Gary McSheffrey has just been allowed to leave Chesterfield. He'd do a brilliant job for us as a goalscoring left-sided attacker.
he's never really strayed far from the Midlands, though, so it might be a tough sell.

I would wait until we have brought in a replacement before letting him go, we can't afford to let anymore players go and not replace them.

Don't know what your getting at but Adam said he was looking forward to playing against sellic and who would'nt after playing in the reserves. As a player he want's to improve himself. Sellic are the opportunity he can thrive on and if he can pop in a goal or 2 then all the better. Maybe I've picked you up wrong but I see nothing but positives in his interview.
