If I could veer slightly off-topic and bring music gigs into the equation... I like it if you are going to see, let's say, a band like Foo Fighters. Doesn't matter if it's an all-standing venue like the SECC, or an all-seated venue like the Hydro, everyone will be standing up. Similarly, if you are going to a classical orchestra or something, you know everyone will be sitting down. What gets on my tits are those concerts where there is no clear-cut 'protocol' and you get a situation where you are up, down, up, down, do the hokey-cokey... Elvis Costello is a good example. He kicks off with a faster number and some folk are up, some are down, then you see the inevitable situation with folk trying to get folk to sit down, they can't see... Words are exchanged. Then he plays a slow one, everyone sits down again, except for two women who have imbibed a few vodkas before the show, they remain standing defiantly through two ballads...
Basically, I would like to avoid this at the fitba'. I'm all for dedicated safe standing areas - and like the old days, the 'stand' was for sitting in. Then you know where you stand... Or sit.

Whatever you think of Goodwin he should be allowed to play next week at some point to allow him a proper farewell. He's a Cup Winning Captain FFS and we've only had 2 of them in my lifetime. Treat the guy with some respect.

Spending what we have wisely, appointing the right coaches and manager is what it is all about. I look at the teams we have played all season and have not seen that many players better than our squad, but by God they play better as teams... for one another, can pass, play with pace and are not so profligate in front of goal. Lack of confidence does play a big part... but this season has all been about poor signings and poor management. Both at Director and at team level.It took us to last month to get hold of a decent centre half. I am now resigned to going down unless we do something against Motherwell and Ross County in the last two games before the split, but the way Ross County are going we can at best grab a play off, but I fear that would only delay the inevitable.
However, I will be back next season..... we've been here before... unfortunately.

It doesn't matter who comes in, they can only spend the income we generate. Otherwise we will end up in debt.
We have to spend the money we have more wisely, even if we are able to generate more income.
The last thing we need as a club is some sugar daddy type running us in a way that is not sustainable in the long run.

That's one of the selections/tactics I find hard to understand - it's been pretty clear from the first sighting of Thommo this season that he's been nowhere near fit, if we were to get a reasonable return from him he was going to have to be used sparingly but all too often it's been fingers crossed & eyes shut just persisting with him for 90 minutes.
