You could try it with European players, but Steve Archibald and Claude Anelka tried that at Airdrie and Raith Rovers without much success (or indeed any success for Claude). The below is from an article on the STV website published in 2011. The UK isn't exactly likely to be making it easier for immigrants in the current political climate either. The Argentinians and this guy Murray might want to buy SMFC. Then, when the club formerly known as the club formerly known as Rangers (or whatever they're called by then) go belly up again they can buy that lot on the cheap and transfer SMFCs registration to them. Hence it keeps the knuckledraggers happy to pour in their millions through season books etc for a team that's still alive and in the Premiership. Most likely it will be sold to a football agency outfit - we have seen this story before, we know how it ends. We are probably too late this time for a fan or community takeover. NM is also a football agent and works mainly with German football clubs. Doesn't make the business men he's over with any less dodgy right enough.
