The majority of us who still back Thommo are going to be proven correct in that he won't manage 90 minutes every match, or two starts a week but he's still a very important player for us. Wasn't the case today - absolutely bullied their defence and should perhaps have scored before he did. Was he taken off because he was tired, getting isolated or injured? The first 4 league games have been a big disappointment with very few players showing up well including Thompson but confident he will get a minimum of 15 with quite a few assists along the way. Our aim this season should be to finish 4th and see where the play offs take us. We don't have any more midweek games scheduled this year. We are playing once a week so the load on him and our other older lads is lighter than it may otherwise have been. Yep, the most vocal poster about Thompson was also the most vocal that we should have told Andy Webster to GTF one minute after 5pm on the Thursday before he signed the next day.
