I was captivated by Guni but probably don’t remember much of him.

I’d probably say that Basher was my fave. I remember the feeling of shock when he was sold to Hibs as the news broke at a midweek League cup game (against Brechin?) at Love St.
Equally, the excitement when he re-signed on loan from Hibs - that first game against Raith Rovers was the start of a magical season.

Jay Henderson gets the plaudits. but I thought young  Dylan Reid had a very disciplined game ,never out of place when required ,for a guy if only 16 it was a first class display of a holding midfielder.

Alan Power was immense today and has been for some time - a pity we don't have more like him.
He not only wins the ball in tackles but is able to keep possession unlike practically everyone else in the team.
We are still persisting with the chip ball into the opposition's 6 yard box - you would think that this tactic has been tried and tested and should have been ditched some time ago.
But hey - if at first you don't succeed try try again!!!!

If you can't be good be lucky. Perfect analogy today. Guts got us through as we are running on vapours imo. Huge result in the circumstances and given us a huge chance of at least top 6. Superb defensively again despite having about 3 in game reshuffles. Alnwick also excellent. A massive improvement all round this season and long may it continue.

In his few games back since regaining his position, Flynn has done more than enough to earn a 1 year extension. It's clear the young guys need a cool head alongside them and Flynn has provided exactly that. I'm not sure why anyone would be even considering releasing him in the summer. I hope Jim is looking to keep him.

    The plus side
At least we got a point instead of the 3-0 defeat issued earlier

We looked very vulnerable at the back again today. Looked to me like it was a 4-3-3  with Sheron playing alongside Shaughnessy. Anyway it was a slightly better second half although we still get carved open far too easily at times. McPherson did well again and Connolly impressed.
It still looks like Goodwin is trying to find a team and formation that will see us do far better than what we've seen so far this season. The next quarter of league matches will be crucial for the team and manager.

Magennis signed a three year deal in 2016, and was then contracted until 2021.
He was never going to stay beyond 2021.
It's to the club's credit that we tied him down so long and have, if the stories are true, received a fee in excess of the development fee we would have received next June.

Shame if true, hopefully get someone in that can do as good a job. He has been a resounding success in that job since coming in.
    - Survival in SP
    - Second highest SP finish
    - Very positive looking recruitment this summer.
I know there are a few with pre-held views on Gus that cloud their judgement but it's been a good spell with him back.

Whatever fans think. I love Tony's enthusiasm. If he said nothing he would get a hard time. Can't win situation. Tony loves the club we all know that. I've had my fall outs with Tony and Gordon but the one I respect I know both love the club. In that respect I think St.Mirren are lucky that we have guys in charge who are fans. Coys

Think it’s a sign of where Scottish football is. Harry is struggling to get a deal in the lower leagues of England so is punting himself up north.

Using us as leverage to see if someone like Hibs or Motherwell will offer him more money.

    Maybe they will.

Is he good enough for the SPFL Premiership? Maybe, maybe not. He’s never played at that or an equivalent level before, and he’s 28. Must be a reason for that.

He was certainly good enough in the Scottish Championship, but as we all know, that’s no real barometer.

Not that bothered if he signs for us or not. Would rather we got in players who are proven at this level in.

Give me Popescu or Famewo or McLoughlin before Davis.

Having the Killie games postponed was also a real break since we would likely have had both McCarthy and MacPherson missing.
Add in Waters not able to play and Foley missing in midfield to cover in defence.
Going into the last few games before the split, and maybe the rest of the season with only 1 fit centre half would have been scary.

You, and @munoz, might be right.
The fact these games are meaningless will, IMO, show in attendances, dropping quite a bit.
Look at the numbers we got for the last few games and the play off's last season?
More meaningful games will be more appealing than meaningless games, IMO.

Airdrie v St Mirren at New Broomfield on a Friday night during the millennium champions season. Basher scores o put us two nothing up, my brother punches my glasses off  whilst celebrating and they fall on to the row in front - just as I'm teaching down to get them the guy in front accidentally jumps on top of them while celebrating. I spent the rest of the game trying to watch through one lens and twisted frames!!  Great win though 😆

Right Jim, here's my advice for tomorrow.
    1. Don't play Paul McGinn at centre half. It's not his position and we miss his attacking play at right back. Play a youngster at centre half, give big Anton a call, pull the boots on yourself, just don't play the defence we ended up with on Wednesday.
    2. Play McAllister and Durmus from the start to give us width and go for it.
    3. Tell Obika he gets fined if he drops too deep. He's shite running with the ball and when he has too much thinking time, much more of an instinctive striker. Leave him in the penalty box.
    4. Don't be scared to wind Açcies players up, they've had loads sent off this season, a few have a short fuse.
    5. Remind the players Açcies are fecking shite.

The irritating thing is the league is up for grabs this season. Outside of the bigots we have a weaker Aberdeen, a weaker Killie, a pish Hearts side, a pish Hibs side too. Top 6, even Europe is a great possibility for many of the smaller Premier clubs this season.
Unfortunately much like when we had a similar opportunity when Hibs and Hearts went down and Sevco 2012 were yet to reach the Premier, we did everything possible to achieve the complete opposite of going for that high finish.

Andy Millen must have been about 65 when he stopped playing, so if he’s looked after himself then I don’t see a problem with a two year contract.
I guess for the likes of Broadfoot though I wouldn’t be expecting him to be making lung bursting runs from box to box, so in his position I don’t believe the same energy levels are required. I’d expect him to be more clearing the lines or passing the ball on to one of our many creative midfielders.
Good signing if it happens. Should give us plenty options in that role.
