Ahem...David Goodwillie looked top drawer and his goal a thing of beauty.  Yes he is a bit rapey but we are in need of a decent striker!!!!!

Seemingly Charsley's first name is actually Henry, but he is known as Harry.
How thoroughly splendid it would be if he did sign and we were able to shout "hooray Henry!" when he contrived to complete an effective pass or scored a topper of a goal.

I am very much in favour of signing Fraser Hornby and Harry Charsley, if only because both their names makes them sound like they could have been playing inside-right for Blackpool in the 1950s.

You never really liked Jack did you? Any opportunity you got during his tenure you put the boot in but unfortunately for you things went so well you really became a bit of a lone wolf in that regard.

Undeterred though you waited for another chance and Jack’s departure has left the door ajar a little and here you come with this pish again.

Jack Ross is a legend who transformed a team and the bond with the fans over a season and a half that was as good as I can remember following Saints. It was a great ride while it lasted and it’s done now so why you feel he need to have the digs I can’t understand?

If you like “Stubbzo” that’s great. Get behind him and leave the past where it belongs. Everyone else will remember it fondly and you can try your best to get over it.

I'll go back to last season about this time... we got pumped 5-0 by Partick Thistle. While we obviously won't go on win the league this year i thinks it's just a wee bit premature to write us off just yet. Surely we're not all saying now that GS and TF haven't got a scoobie what they're doing? I think it is only fair we give AS a wee bit more time to get the team sorted before we crucify the guy.

Short memory from you Shull, have you forgotten where the club were under Tommy Craig Ian Murray and Alex Rae ?  Jack Ross gave us back our club and an identity that the fans all bought into. He gave me a reason to go and look forward to watching the team. 
Its all about opinions but I’ll be forever grateful for everything that Jack Ross and James Fowler achieved in those 20 glorious months. We should be embracing the good times and the memories, rather than coming across all bitter towards the man who done us all proud. 
Seasons like the last one don’t happen very often for clubs like ours.

Without Reilly’s goals we don’t win the league so his contribution was massive and to suggest otherwise just cuts the legs out from under your whole argument.
 
Smith was the POY and when Morgy’s form shaded (around the time he started playing with the Sco U21’s) he was the one who kept delivering and scoring goals.
 
Morgan was a vital component of the title winning run and we may not have won he league without his contribution but the same could be said of Reilly, Smith and probably Davis.

He was great for us and we gave him a platform to be more successful and make more money. It worked out for us both.

Isn't that the bottom line, that the players have not had time to gell together, or fully understand the system the manager wants to employ and their individual role in it ?
I am as disappointed and frustrated as anyone after last night's performance and result, but even I have to accept that it's way to early to be making calls on the relative ability of the manager or his players.
Plenty time yet, just need to be more patient.

I still like to take an interest in players that left us for greater things. It reflects well on our Club and may help entice other young lads to join us.

FWIW I like Doolan and think he would do a turn, but let’s not forget he scored 6 goals in 33 premiership appearances last season. So either last year was a one off and he would bang them in again, or he’s a striker on the slide who’s best days are behind him.

Someone mentioned previously that we have been bitten by this type of signing a fair bit in the past, Wyness, Dargo, Annand and Fenton all spring to mind.

There are currently volunteers at the club who clean the stands midweek every so often. A fantastic gesture.

I just had a look over that season, 59/60, on the programme website.
Utterly bizarre and so typically St. Mirren.
Beat Man City 3-0 in the Paisley Charity Cup, beat Nottm. Forest on agg to claim the title of British Cup Winners .
Had home wins in the league of 8-1 v Arbroath and 5-1 v Motherwell.
Away wins of  5-0 v Kilmarnock, 4-1 v Motherwell and 3-1 v Rangers.
4-4 draws with both Celtic (A) and Hearts (H).
Lost 6-1 away to Raith, 6-2 away to Arbroath, 7-0 at home to Stirling and had our record victory of 15-0 v Glasgow Uni.

Any defeat we've ever had is worse than last night's result. 

Too bad the bloke from The Fall kakked it. He would have been a tremendous Mark E signing.
