pozbaird
Given 130 hours community service. I want my patio and decking redone, the garden tidied up, and the windows washed. Only 90 hours left Gowser. Ball's in your court son.

Magic Monkey
Almost four week's full-time work. I hope that's enough to make him learn a lesson. I also hope people will see that as a suitable punishment and let the lad move on.
Lex
Good news for the football club.
Drew
Good news for the football club. Did you not want him birched?
Lex
Did you not want him birched? I said from a St Mirren point I didn't, but from a citizens point of view I did. It's good news for the football club, not such good news for society IMO.

It's good news for the football club, not such good news for society IMO. So it would have been better for 'society' to have paid thousands of pounds to keep him in the pokey, than for him to be contributing something constructive (ie: poz' decking being spruced up) by way of payback? Drew
Sounds like a pragmatic, proportionate reponse. Hopefully he can get his personal life back on track now.
class of 76-77
Time to move on now, Gowser has now been dealt with and in all honesty he's suffered enough, having to live in Airdrie.
Seaside Nipper
65 hrs per policeman.................approx one and a half weeks a pop..............surprised he wasn't more harshly dealt with tbh. Could our season now turn on this judicial sentence ????

He's been convicted twice of police assault. I believe anyone convicted twice of this offence deserves prison. The debate of the cost of imprisonment isn't really relevant IMO. Would you make that same argument about a more serious offender? This sentence sends out the wrong message to society regarding police assault in my opinion. But it's great news for St Mirren. Stevo
He is a very lucky boy. Neither he nor the club could have hoped for better. Would like to see him make the most of this leniency and hope he appreciates the support he's had.
iceblink
Maybe he won't be allowed to start doing his community service until the close season, meaning he's forced to spend another year at Saints

Drew
He is a very lucky boy. I take it you had access to all the details of the incident in reaching this conclusion? Anyway, as others have said, time to move on.
alanmurray24
every story has two side....maybe the other side of the story made him only get a community service
pozbaird
Q. Why is Barlinnie just like St Mirren Football Club? A. Neither can get decent players through their doors in January. Coat, etc.
