There's not enough mentioning of the Bash absolute legend!!

If he had a good mentor and someone to keep him on the straight and narrow I firmly believe he would have played at the very top level, What a talent wasted but considering what he was like fitness/condition he still did good fir us.

Definately my striker great player for me.

CB McLaughlin

CB Aitken

MF McGinn

MF Murray

MF Dorman

MF McGowan 11/12 season version.

We have had some superb centre forwards over the years. Choosing from them 3 plus Higdon, Yards, Lavety, Mixu even in the short spell you could tell he was a class above.

I forgot about McCulloch. He was a great goalie.

He had some great games in the run-in in 77/78 , his performance at Ayr was vital, and along with our late winner, contributed to Ayr going down and us staying up !

I saw a few of the games he played for us. He was on a different level from everyone else on the park. It's a pity the guys round about him couldn't read the moves he was making.

For some reason it reminds me of the story, or was it a song even, about the footballer who was equally dangerous to his own team or the opposition depending on what way he was actually facing when he got the ball.

Born in 1990 so my team will reflect that

Hinchcliffe (better than ludo if not loved as much)

Broadfoot (stepovers out of defence. Leadership in relagation battle)

Walker (remember him scoring a few in Hendrie season)

McGregor (loves a header or last ditch challenge)

Nicolson (soo many assists in Hendrie season)

McGinn ( so much potential yet already our best player)

Murray (never seen him lose a header despite his size, scored that goal and had more heart than anyone I've seen play for St. mirren)

Dorman (lazy sod knew when to spring into action and get infront of the forwards)

Thompson (need I say more)

Lavety ( so much talent, a waster who still contributed a lot. Always remember his goal down at Ayr in 99 season)

Higdon (just knew where the net was whether he was 4 or 40yards out)

It was the same when I saw George Best playing for Hibs at Love Street

None of his team mates could read what he was doing.

Dawson - none of his team mates knew what he was doing.
