Saints a bit unlucky Dan Wilks was injured and the stand in keeper did ok, but might have done a little more at both Falkirk goals. His kicking needs work.

Saints had plenty chances but missed them all and the keeper is not to blame for that. Flanagan and Gow were the main culprits.

Howison after having a few great games was anonymous, perhaps because he was pushed out left. Carswell magnificent last week poor this week. Carswell and Goody played in center mid and that made the middle a bit too safe.

Jason played an hour and did ok without being brilliant.

Falkirk were a fairly typical Houstie team organised, deterined and niggly.

Good performances from Goody, Gow (misses apart), McAllister, and Flanagan (again misses apart). Pooler and O'Keef played well when they came on.

One thing that occurred to me is that say what you like about Gow, he's come into the U20 worked his socks of to get fitness and sharpness and played himself into the mangers plan, to a lesser degree you can say the same about Goodwin, Carswell, Agnew and Howison. (and now Jason), Over the same period a big name, big wage player who's not getting a starting place in the first time has declined to take the opportunity to show the manager why he should be starting and gain fitness.

I'm not saying we should give Gow or any of the other first team players mentioned a contract, but one thing for sure we should not be giving Thommo one. jerry.gif

Any way no complaints about tonight, You don't take your chances that's what happens.

Who was the poor kicking stand in keeper? The lad Langfield?

16 yr old Reece Willison

He actually did ok and had a good stop when one of the falkirk boys was through one on one.

The first goal was shot from outside the box. It was a good pop, but it seemed to take him by surprise.

Second goal was a bit of cock up looked like either Jason or Carswell who fell over.

Definitely not to blame for either goal, just think a more experience keeper might have kept both out

Cheers for the report but surely the manager doesn't ask a player to play, he tells them unsure.png

Agree with most of insaintee but need to stick up for the young keeper. Didn't think he had much chance with the two goals and did have a good save. With the five first team men on the pitch it was embarrassing that a very young Falkirk team deservedly beat us. Gow had a good first half but fell away. The others were poor apart from Jim who just about got pass marks. The boys did ok but seen them play much better. Would like to see our full backs deliver a cross.

Really not having a go at the keeper at all.

I don't think Falkirk deservedly beat us, St Mirren had more than enough good chances to win comfortably. We never took they did (so I suppose that means they deserved to win).

Our full backs sent in plenty of crosses but Flanagan and gow never seemed to get anywhere near them. That might be about the quality of the crosses, it might be about the fact that Flanagan is midget and Gow slow as a week in jail getting into the box.

The main positive for me was seeing Jason Naismith getting 60 minutes under his belt.

He was head and shoulders above everyone else on the park in more ways than one.

Nice to see him get stuck in with a few strong fair challenges. Something we have been missing from the first team.

Hopefully he will be back in first team action in the next few weeks.

How long is left on Jason's contract?

Young Saints beaten 2-1 by Partick Thistle to be honest Thistle were the better team and deserved their win. Thistle led 1-0 right up to literally the last kick of the first half when Jason McGrath let fly with a screamer. All the players worked hard but were 2nd best most of the game. Jim Goodwin and Cammie Howieson both started and finished the game

I've noticed we are starting to lose more games now playing more experienced players
