St Mirren Vs Forfar

Recommended Posts

The second half was a damp squib. I put that down to losing the midfield. It kind of proves we are almost totally reliant on O'Hara to control it. For the "real" games we need that midfield general. IF we need to be without Captain Marvel we need to have another option. Unless we have an academy graduate hidden gem then Gogic is the most likely filler.

ETA.

Talking about graduates.

A wee mention for Luke Kenny who came on as a sub for the last 30 of the game.

Didn't look out of place. Seems to have a nice touch and wasn't overawed.

Well done youngin.

The second half was a training exercise to get players match fit and to give our reserve players some game time.

Baccus strolled the midfield when O'Hara was subbed.

Hopefully both will both be with us for the forthcoming season.

No luck on that but a home game against Motherwell will see a good crowd turn up for what should be a tight game.

Aye, true. A place in the 1/4 finals up for grabs...one game away from Hampden. They have Obika, of course. Whilst we have Mandron and O'Hara. Looking forward to it, already.

We should have won the group on max points and been seeded - but considering our position after the first game, I'm delighted we got through and even more so with the draw.

Of the 14 possible match-ups available as a non seeded team, I reckon this was the 3rd best possible outcome (After Ayr and Airdrie at home).

We've been quite lucky in the draw and have more or less wiped out the impact of that initial defeat.

... of course we still have to win it...🙂

Remember we played them off the park and got beat 1-0 last season so not going to be easy.

Yep - didn't say it would be easy.

None of the 14 available outcomes would have been easy - I just happen to think this will be relatively easier than 11 of the others.

Definitely more winnable than a trip to Celtic Park or Ibrox - and I was expecting one of those to come out the hat.
