There's no secret that I'm also no fan of Stevie Mallan and his performances this season. For some reason others give him a leeway despite all the evidence because Dundee offered some money for him last season. The sad thing is he actually looked like he had some promise about him when he first broke into the first team but I think his massive ego has gotten the better of him. f**k knows what he works on at training cause it certainly isn't passing, tackling, shooting, marking, dribbling, ball control, or set pieces. |'ve been assured by BinEK that I've got it wrong about this lad and some St Mirren fans tell me the reason Mallan can't do any of these things this season is because Alex Rae and Jack Ross have asked him to play as a Central Midfielder in position rather than a central midfielder that swans about 5 yards out of position, but I reckon this dire St Mirren side will come to be the pinnacle of his career. 

And another from the current squad Jason Naismith. Another player who clearly derides the supposed value of having your own training ground for players to train on. This season he's started off looking out of shape, got worse as the season progressed and has made simple and basic defending errors all season long. He's also a player who didn't impress me even when others were happy to talk him up. I didn't rate him as a right back and was told he was a centre half, but he wasn't good enough at centre half to depose Marc McAusland - another absolute haddy - and he continues to play at Right Back even with the lack of quality at Centre Half available to Jack Ross. 

As mentioned Marc McAusland. His time in the stripes was so obviously a case of nepotism. He had a wee burst of pace but even that could't help him when it came to his woeful positional sense, his utter inability to read a game, and what often was exposed as a complete lack of judgement and self awareness. Happier to chuck it than to chase back, happier to blame others than to take responsibility for his mistakes, and a player who time and time again could be faulted for the vast majority of the large numbers of goals that St Mirren would concede with him in the team. It's no surprise to see his career slide even further down the pan since he left St Mirren.

And finally Mark Crilly. Stewart Gilmour talked him up like he was the new Pele but anyone with any sort of football brain who had bothered to watch him play at Stirling Albion would have seen just how far fetched those claims were going to be. He wasn't even a decent Third Division player, never mind the player that John Coughlin was supposed to build his third rate side around. 

I could easily has added the likes of Brian McGinty, Robert Dunn, Christoper Wreh, and Paul McHale to the list. Wage thieves the lot of them. 

 

I think the inclusion of Mallan & Naismith in his Top 5 plus having McAusland as a near miss show how much of a joke SD was.

No he didn't. He played on the stupid rock hard pitch in the Isle of Man pre-season jolly and got a really bad hip injury. The specialist told him if he continued playing he would be in a wheelchair within 10 years, do he retired. I'm sure the club got compensation.
