Drew Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 (edited) According to the Record our transfer business is complete. No signings today. But it is the Record .....Wouldn't be surprised. Bringing in Webster probably stretched the budget. It was arguably worth it on the basis that we have been crying out for an experienced centre half for years. Midfield remains a concern, though. The deficiencies in this area are quite clear to see. Does Murray have the personnel and acumen to address these? $64,000 question.... Edited September 1, 2015 by Drew Quote

mckellag Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Seems we have signed a young Ex Celtic forward Jaison McGrath - according to the Express this morning Quote
cambiebud Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Surely we must be trying to get a playmaker in today. Would be astounded if we weren't. Quote
Kendo Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Surely we must be trying to get a playmaker in today. Would be astounded if we weren't. Get ready to be astounded. Quote

kevo_smfc Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 John Rankin's name been mentioned again for a loan deal. Quote
Drew Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 John Rankin's name been mentioned again for a loan deal. As United are a bit shite, I would be surprised if they let one of their more experienced players go (unless they have a decent replacement lined up). Quote
pass pass pass Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 The same Rankin that was gonna sign then changed his mind to go to Dundee its, no thanks Quote

Anything can happen on deadline day Quote

cambiebud Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 The same Rankin that was gonna sign then changed his mind to go to Dundee its, no thanks To be fair, this is exactly the kind of player we need. Quote
Lord Pityme Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 If we were looking for some experienced creativity in midfield then is McFadden worth a punt? Hasn't had a club since the end of last season and no takers by all accounts. Theres a good reason for all those bruises he has acquired from ten-foot barge poles....! Quote
Ayrshire Saints Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 To be fair, this is exactly the kind of player we need. Correct it's the type of player we are missing an experienced midfielder who can get forward and bring the younger less experienced guys into the game - a link man. Quote
Drew Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Simon Ferry (midfielder) leaves Dundee United by mutual connsent. Less likelihood of Rankin being sent out on loan? Is Ferry the type of player we need, for that matter. Can't say I know a great deal about him. Quote

Drew Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Apologies - I misread a Twitter story. Quote
Ayrshire Saints Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 DU just signed a central midfielder on loan from Reading so possibly Rankin rumour might not be too wide of the mark. Quote
ulysses Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 DU just signed a central midfielder on loan from Reading so possibly Rankin rumour might not be too wide of the mark. Maybe we can tempt them with a swap deal for Gow. McNamara has seemingly lost the plot anyway, so worth trying it out. Quote
pass pass pass Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Maybe Tommo sounded Rankin out, seeing as they are both media darlings Quote
