theskystrikers 1 Report post Posted January 4, 2015 Steve Kinsey, Steve Galloway, Paul Kinnaird (1 goal in about 20 years)... Tortured my days as a, ahem, "cardboard cutout" in the family enclosure Saw two wee boys openly tell Kinsey he wasn't good enough to sign their autograph book at Brockville
steve_the_saint 163 Report post Posted January 4, 2015 Sergei Baltacha?Unbelievable he actually got a game for the u21s. Obviously was to make sure he could only play for Scotland but I doubt Ukraine were really worrying that he would turn into a superstar.

Drew 21,117 Report post Posted January 4, 2015 Where's Dick Chinnery when you need him? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=toaly I would hotly dispute that spelling. Shull is correct. Oh, and for the record, it is jobbie with an 'ie'!

WeeBud 1,288 Report post Posted January 8, 2015 He seemed good, initially... then performances grew more and more average. I liked him. Living in Southampton at the time I actually took in the Southampton v Arsenal reserve game that Baltacha had a trial in (I believe while he was still with us), he never actually looked out of place at that level. Strange that he went from being an U21 international to complete oblivion almost overnight!!
Bud the Baker 8,968 Report post Posted January 8, 2015 (edited) Sergei Baltacha? He seemed good, initially... then performances grew more and more average. I liked him. Living in Southampton at the time I actually took in the Southampton v Arsenal reserve game that Baltacha had a trial in (I believe while he was still with us), he never actually looked out of place at that level. Strange that he went from being an U21 international to complete oblivion almost overnight!! His problem was that for such a big, well built laddie he was a bit of a wuss and once sussed that was him finished in Scottish football - feel (in hindsight maybe) that he did well in 99/00 because he had the two Tam-the-Bam's (Brown & Turner) to mind him. Oh and for 6ft 5ins or whatever he regularly jumped 5ft 6ins! Still not the worst ever, I'm sticking with my initial choice of Chic Charnley for the reasons given on Page 2 but must say big Bahookie gave him a close run! TopCat 7,414 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 Bahoken for me. That 45 minute debut against Thistle last August... Was genuinely surprised he made it to half time before getting hooked. Looked like a pub player.

Edinbuddie 1,324 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) Does anyone have a clue how Josh Magennis is still getting away with it as a professional footballer? Hambud 3,139 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) Lol Does anyone have a clue how Josh Magennis is still getting with it as a professional footballer? Big, strong, pacey but not the first idea about how to play the game.nah no idea what he's up to.....I remember reading an article about him in the summer when he was talking about having to choose between football and rugby when he was younger. He believes where he is/was is vindication that he made the right decision. Aye mate diving about like a fanny for Kilmarnock against potentially being an international rugby player. He has the right build and pace to be an amazing rugby player. Edited to add he's never a footballer. Edited January 9, 2015 by Hambud
Big Yards 1,011 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 Gary Bowman anyone? He played about half a season in the league winning team. Scored a goal as well. Hardly the worst player ever!
steve_the_saint 163 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 from what I remember Paul rudden (also deserving a mention in this thread) was the only player not to score that season! Gary Bowman was far from the worst though, a very limited player but done a job for us.
