Aswad Thomas is a 23 year old English left back who played with Grimsby Town is currently on trial with St Mirren and may feature in tomorrow's Renfrewshire Cup final, was once of Charlton Athletic's books, and he was recommended to Danny Lennon from the Charlton Athletic management team after last Saturday's friendly.

Don't think you can play trialists in the Renfrewshire cup any more.

Seems to have had a "sparkling" career path so far...........................

Still,he's relatively young.

Seems to have signed to two year deal at the beginning of last season. This would mean we'd have to pay for him. Can't really see that happening!

He could easily have been/be released in the Imrie/Guy stylee.....

Started 40 or so games for Grimsby last season as well as being involved in a couple of 'England' squads. Doesn't really sound like the kind of player that's likely to be released.

Mark Stewart came on as a sub for Morton as a trialist in last years final !

Not according to this team list.

Morton: Gaston; Taggart, Reid, McLaughlin, Dyer; Wallace (Graham 70), Stirling, Hardie (Rutkiewicz h-t), Tidser (Halsman 76), O’Brien (Campbell 84); Weatherson. Subs: O’Ware, Flak

Anyway, I could be wrong.
