gc_SMFC
Hutton, Walsh and Morgan have been our main performers. The front two haven't had much service. The defence is posted missing. Mallan needs to learn to pass the ball two yards, then move. There's still time to turn this round. The players need to actually start doing the simple stuff correct. TopCat
HT 1-2Really poor half from us and we deserve to be behind to be honest. We actually started the brighter but as soon as the goal went in we were awful for the next half hour and lucky not to go 2 behind. We then get a goal out of nothing - fantastic bit of improvisation from Walsh, making up for his slip at their first - and he almost scored again immediately after. Then QOTS run up and score again. Irvines lack of pace being exposed yet again. Rae needs to turn this around and quick.

TopCat
Irvine had three players behind him. Hardly his fault none of them could defend In the box you mean? He's left back and yet again an uncontested cross from the left side has led to a goal. Just like Hibs first goal a few weeks back. If you're going to let uncontested crosses in you're going to concede goals.
Dare
We are once again 2nd to near enough every ball. Players look like they can't be arsed ... wtf is going on. Big improvement needed in the 2nd half
TopCat
the replay shows that mackenzie looked back saw lyle coming and still did nothing, this guy is shite I agree McKenzie has had a poor game. The whole back line has to be honest, Naismith, Webster, McKenzie Langfield and Irvine. So much experience between the 5 of them. Yet they're just so poor. the barrhead teacher
Need to sort this defence. Is Walsh a winger? Great goal mind. Worst thing about today is no one is surprised at what we are seeing. Good start but we give away goals.
FTOF
1-2Irvine ripped down the left and a cross in tapped in.Disaster. Apart from the fact it was Webster. You're correct.
Dan Is The Man
1-2Irvine ripped down the left and a cross in tapped in.Disaster. I think you've mistaken Irvine for Webster. Read the play had half an hour head start and still couldn't get there. Pretty clear you don't like Irvine but stop conjuring up ridiculous excuses to slaughter a player. ulysses
Morgan, Hardie, and Walsh looking like the only ones that can do something here. Got to get them on the ball at every opportunity if we want to get anything out of this.

Never mind the clutch of midfield players, including Mallan and Morgan that allowed the pass to be played in behind in the first place. The ball was played from left midfield, so Morgan should take the responsibility for not covering his man with your thinking. Your dislike of Irvine is blinding you to that. Webster for not having the pace to cover. McKenzie for not getting in position to cut out the ball across and Naismith for watching a man wander into the box for the tap in are more to blame than Irvine. STGBuddy
It doesn't matter what we put in front of them , if we 'defend' like that then we're going to be battling every week. Come on Rae , get something out of them .. Something

Hendo
it's not over yet, we still have Rae"s inspired subs to come on and turn it round. Shankland for Sutton after 60 minutes and play for throw ins near the box, which Shanks throws to no-one as we have no centre forward anymore. Then Clarkson for Hardie after 70 minutes, thus reducing our pace in attack.

zurich_allan
So basically your point is that a free cross from the left hand side isn't the left backs fault? Ok then. No. It's not always. When you play in defence or midfield you are coached that players, especially right or left back, move position when going forward and a system is put in place for another player to then step in to that position to cover. It's basic coaching to be honest and training drills are done at every club to ensure players take responsibility to do it in the match. gc_SMFC
Good work from Walsh down the right, gets a cross into the box. Hardie doesn't make a full connection on the header, easy save.
TopCat
Ok the fact that we keep getting taken apart on the left side - it's happened a couple of times second half too - is nothing to do with Irvine. Good cross by Walsh there actually right on Hardies head. His header is poor though.
