dakota7
We can only hope Rae can either get the best out of him or move him on.
bigjerseybuddie
There's a short clip on YouTube where thommo is interviewed. He is asked some questions about team mates. When asked who is the most skilful player he answered "Gow"! So somebody at the club rates him. He might be terrific in training and anonymous in games. it does happen to some players. Is Alex Rae the man to get the best from him or is it too late? If he was going to be punted in the transfer window its unlikely he would have been included in yesterday's squad. Perhaps he has one last chance

aldo_j
Maybe Rae and Farrell will get the best from him. Certainly won't have any problems telling him to man up...
stlucifer
Gow was playing superbly in the game against Motherwell, (his last start?), and wasn't shirking any tackles. He took a fair amount of abuse that day due to not being protected by the officials before he was stretchered off. that's the Gow we all would like to see. The strange thing is that, if he applied himself like this regularly, he would be proclaimed as a star on this and any Saints' forum. Maybe Rae can get this through to the guy and we can spend our time singing new songs about him. Kendo
It's funny how he gets himself fit during transfer windows. Let's see how fit he is come mid February - March.

He had a good game that day but 1 or 2 good games on 12 months isn't a good ratio, hopefully Rae can get him playing good stuff and proves me and many others wrong. bigjerseybuddie
Link ? Sorry fellow buddie but I can't do a link from my iPad. I just keyed St Mirren into the YouTube search engine and it was about the fifth or sixth on the list with ladbrokes inside info in the title along with St Mirren and Thommo
Bud the Baker
Every time I see this thread at the top of the pile I look in hoping to see he's been moved on and every time (so far) I've been disappointed. Nothing against the player himself, it was Murray's mistake.

Saint Garf
As much as he's been a disaster for us until now, if he's nearly now, it would be daft for Rae to move him on without having a proper look at him first. He'll want to asses every player himself and so he should.
JM1
I definitely didn't think he was superb against Motherwell. It was his best performance but wasn't great - culminating with him putting the ball about 5 yards wide when through one on one with the keeper. Lord Pityme
C'mon wake up and smell the awfy! Rae is sticking him in the squad to get some mug punter somewhere to sign the wage-thieving git, and free up a new signing slot. The Guy has turnd in ONE thirty minute spurt of football in TWO seasons so far.... Hello, that was someone getting the best out of him. Bud the Baker
No players have played well under Murray. Accepted but at this stage of Gow's career trajectory expecting him to turn things around boldly goes where no optimist has gone before. andyswann2007
Please don't be so hard on him. We knew he was always injured. Yet we signed him. And yes hes injured. Not his fault at all. Did his insurer pay his wages? We don't know, but if they did, we're happy Cos then he cost us nothing. Er. well, except the cost of the soap to wash his strips. Lol, not much then!
