Sonny
Don't forget that Jack is in competition with Cameron Toshack who has some good credentials for the Barnsley job. He guided the Swansea U23s to a League title over Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U etc. He knows the English game and has coached young players with great success. He also has international coaching experience with Wales and Macedonia. He has no management experience however.

I'm sure Jack's agent would have insisted on those, as he will with any new deal he signs...
mad saint 2
Hope we put a sell on clause in case he is the next special one but lets be honest the chairman went for Jack ,let trust him to get us our next man if the BOSS goes if he does good luck to him ,

Ronnie
Doubt that they were looking to have a new man in by this weekend No they weren't.The original story said "They want a new man in place by this weekend for the Match against Burton Albion" which unsurprisingly the journalist who wrote it didn't bother to find out the game is next midweek. The talk from the club this week should have been all about rallying the troops for our biggest and most important game of the season , instead we're bogged down with talk of our manager speaking to another club. Even if he stays now there will be some damage to morale . The whole situ has not been handled very well at all . Too long? Barely 3 days? How quick do you think this could have taken? IF it's resolved today/tomorrow it'll have been completed pretty quickly IMO.

Those players have the chance to win a league and get a medal. Nothing that happens should change their mindset.
djchapsticks
GLS is a proven shrewd operator. He'll have a plan B if Jack Ross goes. He'll also have a much higher overall calibre of applicant CV landing on his desk than 18 months ago.

Think this would be more of a 'get us over the line then we won't stand in your way in the summer' type deal, though.

No, but we can do it in the short-term to maintain stability and get us over the line this season and hopefully into next season in the Premier League. Short term pain for longer term gain
buddygreat
Need to consider as well that barnsley would be taking a gamble on Jack. They're sitting in the relegation zone. They've got a lot of investment. They might want someone with a more proven record in the English game than jacks first full season in the Scottish championship.. True, if the BoD resort to this its time to use our influence as a major shareholder to stop the madness.

St.Ricky
Jack is on the Fast Track in Football Management. I said in an earlier post that I have no worries about further increasing his income and thus also increasing any compensation we might receive in the future. Any manager is only roughly a fortnight at most away from leaving.I wouldn't doubt GLS would have a plan B, albeit he may not have been expecting to use it this season. DougJamie
Ok lets put this into perspective Alex leaving us hardly had a neg impact did it ? I am resigned to fact that if he leaves, then hey life goes on, I support Saints not Jack Ross We will be fine, he is a super young man and regardless ,I will say thanks for what you have done, you have taken us from darkness and shown us the light ( Praise the Lord) and the best of luck in the rest of your career.............. Unless he signs for Morton

It's definitely a gamble fir them as they need a short term fix to get them to end if season survival. They ate looking at a guy from the lower leagues in Scotland with no experience at that level to save them over a dozen or so games without the benefit of a transfer window. Jack would be getting a massive increase in his wage but could potentially be sacked by end of season.Hope he stays, understand if he goes.
