southsidebud
Either pandering or laziness of the highest order. Could have done with a bit more pandaing
pondsman
Disappointing that the local newspaper can't feature the local club on its cover......and not the most flattering pic of Brendan!
proudtobeabuddy
Never buy it used to get it for the saints bit at the back but there are far better and up to date ways to get your news now.

Tommy
PDE is owned by the Daily Record group so no surprise.

Stu
PDE is owned by the Daily Record group so no surprise. Part of the same group (what used to be called Trinity Mirror) but the Record doesn't own the PDE. Both come under the umbrella of a part of the company called Media Scotland which involves more than 15 other local papers, most of which I'm guessing will have the same pull out. Valid point. The Group Chinese walls look a bit sketchy though if it's generic news across all titles. Bought the Largs and Millport News yesterday and it was full of news on Largs Thistle ( beat the Ton 2-1 in a friendly). Hope the PDE hasn't lost the plot on St Mirren coverage in a Paisley paper. We need some balance to the Old Firm obsession Edited July 26, 2018 by magnus

Exactly the only thing local about the PDE is the word Paisley in the title so what do folk expect from the Renfrewshire arm of the Rhecord/Ranger (delete as the majority think appropriate !!!) Kemp
Obviously it is the same pullout going out across all papers in the group. A real own goal not to bother designing a different front cover for each local paper, being local is the entire selling point of their brand! On another note those boasting above of not buying newspapers will be in for a rude shock the day the last one closes its door. A key part of our society and vital in holding local officials to account.

Tommy
Stu's post was worthy, informative and in context. Pity you switched off, you're obviously not a listener. You no doubt prefer publications where the emphasis is on pics rather than words. Too many words tax the brain and get in the way of a nice pic. eh?You are wrong on everything that you think I am. Why assume you know everything about me from 1 post ?

Haven't bought the PDE in years, but would be surprised if local officials are being held to account in it any further than scowling faced, arms folded residents pictured next to their bins after a missed collection. rabuddies
These small local papers are struggling and the costs involved in designing and printing individual covers not to mention the time involved are well over budget. I think people need to grow a wee bit thicker skin.
