Fortunately a doctor they have on right now is, rightly, pointing out the effects of lockdown restrictions are much worse. Of course, 1 million deaths worldwide is a lot, but it still represents only 2.5% of the estimated 40 million people who have died worldwide in 2020. Covid is just another thing people can die of, sooner we get used to it the better. It's still a long way behind other killers like heart disease, cancer and suicide. With massive restrictions on large portions of the worlds population from a virus that came from a few cases towards the end of 2019. Also I believe more people have died related to Covid19 this year (1 million and counting) than average suicide year on year (around 800,000). It's the "go to" with people looking to make an issue when there is no issue. What's with the chip on your shoulder over students? And now you're attacking mental health as not a real problem? You need to go and lie down I think.

faraway saint
Oh dear, silly SNP MP makes a blunder. It's ok, the Bravehearts on here will just keep quiet, it'll go away. AN SNP MP has admitted breaking lockdown rules by travelling back and forth between Scotland and London by train while positive for coronavirus. The Rutherglen MP, who previously called for Dominic Cummings to resign over his Barnard Castle trip, has issued an apology for her actions on social media. https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/18763865.snp-mp-margaret-ferrier-travelled-scotland-london-testing-positive-covid-19/

She should resign, just like Cummings should have. Maybe she should have lied and made up a totally unbelievable story that only complete halfwits would believe, to try and weasel out of it. faraway saint
Despite the cases rising for over 5 weeks the death rate is still very low, compared to the same number of cases back in April. I really can't see the number of deaths reaching the same numbers we had back in mid April.

The numbers certainly support this. We are now ABOVE the average number of cases, probably down to more testing, that back in March/April and the fatalities are not even close to the numbers at that point.
