Was it the Anchor that shut due to neighbours complaining about the noise?

Yep. Folk moved in across the road from a pub that had live music and karaoke - then complained about the noise.

Allegedly the brewery stepped in and told them that they could no longer have live music or karaoke and they were told to shove their lease.

That's a pity, was a good friendly venue.

That is quite a distance between the two buildings for the noise to be a nuisance issue, fairly weak from the brewery.  Was it Whibread?

(I know they stopped being a brewery some years ago)

Looks like The Old Canal Street station/Telford's has re-opened as Weavers.

Not really , he popped in for one drink & left about half a hour later with his hangers on.

New Indian restaurant opening soon on Neilston Rd at the old Charleston Chippy.Seated area downstairs with the kitchen upstairs in what used to be two flats 🥘🍚

Indian Scene, Multan, one in Moss St (can never remember the name), Koh I Noor, Royal Taj, Ashoka and now this new one.

7 sit-ins is a decent number to choose from.

AFAIK Kwang Tung has reopened or is reopening as a sit-in.

Phat Bhuna in Canal Street too.

They opened a sister restaurant in Cambuslang.

Tried it last week... Very tasty and great value.

I knew I'd forget one. 

I've had the thali lunch in Phat Bhuna a few times. Its a bit "meh".

3 course lunch in Royal Taj for £9.99 on a matchday is excellent.

Last time I was in the Paisley one it was still a chippy and I was on lunch break from West Primary. 😯😂😂😂

 

I've been to the new Phat Bhuna in Cambuslang twice now and really enjoyed it both times.

The old Omar Kyan on Wellmeadow St undergoing a huge makeover just now Not sure what it’s to be but I’d guess another Curry House
