Adam Campbell has returned from him loan spell at Carlisle United, #NUFC have confirmed

Maybe time for Danny to have another go....................

I said as much to someone at the start of the week, that I wouldn't be surprised if the Toon get a new striker in then he'd be recalled and sent to us on loan. Will be interesting to see if they do get Gomis after failing earlier in the summer to secure him.

Teenage striker Adam Campbell has returned from his loan spell at Carlisle United.

Campbell, 18, joined the Cumbrians two weeks ago and made his debut for the League One club when he came on as a second half substitute in the home game against Coventry City.

A return to action for Lee Miller meant that opportunities to add to that tally have been limited and, following consultation between the clubs, it was felt that the best course of action for the player was to allow him to return to train with his parent club.

Not too much sign of NUFC bringing in any strikers at the moment. And the SFAs decision to close the window early probably won't help us here either, idiots.....

It isn't the SFA's decision or fault for once.

Saturday is classed as a working day for the SFA and always has been (as well as about 3 or 4 other FAs in Europe) so UEFA have ordered them to use Saturday as their final deadline day rather than Monday.

I thought UEFA urged theSFA to keep the window open until Monday?

True to a point.

They were given the option of extending the deadline to Monday to keep them in line with other Associations who do not class Saturday as a working day.

The SFA elected to stick to the Saturday.

Not clever, as Scottish clibs can now lose players after Saturday and then do nothing about it.

He can only play for 2 clubs in the one season so if he's available for loan he's available for the full season.

Newcastles preference of being able to recall at any time is out the window now. He either stays at the toon or goes out in loan for the season.

Not quite right. UEFA strongly urged the SFA to move to the Monday 2nd of sept deadline in line with almost every other Association in Europe, however, because of the wording in the Sevco transfer embargo, a change to 2nd sept would have allowed rangers to sign players in this window, thus making he SFA look stupid. They tied themselves up with extremely little foresight and many people raised this exact point at the time the embargo was put in place. Basically ever other club is suffering because of sevco's nonsense and the sfa's incompetence.

I hope someone is making this very point to Newcastle as we speak!
