ErnieT
After working closely with Jim Duffy, would this legend be a valued addition to our set-up? Edited October 18, 2015 by ErnieT

buddiecat
Don't know his coaching credentials so cant comment on whether he would be good for us. Is he looking for a job ?

fan4ever
Do you not think it would make more of a cost effective solution to put a more experienced manager instead if loads of assistants to help an inexperienced manager. I think its a joke our board have given job to an apprentice
Isle Of Bute Saint
After working closely with Jim Duffy, would this legend be a valued addition to our set-up? Legend , to who Thistle. You are having a laugh.
billyg
Coaching our young midfield stars to push forward an create is alien to our manager and his staff. So unless there was a complete change in direction from Murray and Co , then Chic would be a waste of a wage !
pozbaird
On second thoughts... Get Chic in, bag Spalding, and create a management team of Chic Murray.
zurich_allan
The one thing Chic Charnley had in spades was passion and commitment when he was playing, maybe he could help instill and maintain that in some of our players? I personally wouldn't be totally against him being part of the coaching team.

uhura
I once sat near him in the stand at Accies v Saints game at Douglas Park (old). He can swear at a level that makes Malcolm Tucker sound like Daniel O'Donnel.

yani
My memories of Charnley at St Mirren are a little hazy, but I seem to remember him scoring directly from a free kick from an impossible angle at Love Street (my mental image is placing it somewhere around Cairter's Corner - anyone remember it?). That aside, did he not leave under a cloud after gobbing in someone's face during a match? Like I said, my memories of him are hazy but I certainly wouldn't place him in the 'legend' category.. Drew
I recall a match when the manager and/or players insisted in taking every corner short. It was a hopeless tactic from the first attempt, and the support in the LS end (myself included) were becoming increasingly frustrated. Charnley's response? He gave us the finger. Now, I'm fine with players giving a bit back when they are abused from the stands, but, that afternoon, Charnley was simply and overtly demonstrating his absolute disregard and contempt for the St Mirren supporters. He was a legend in his own mind, and bellend in the minds of most others.
