W6Saint
Welcome big guy! Sharpen your elbows and get your shooting boots on and you’ll grab at least 7/8 goals by January. Good business by Stubbs, kind of player we’ve been needing for a number of seasons - infact perhaps since Michael Higdon left 7 years ago! Let’s hope it’s as good a signing on grass as it is on paper, although given the jump between being a below average English Championship player and decent Scottish Prem player i’d hazard a guess he’ll do alright. This guy scored 7 goals in 23 appearances in the top league of Dutch football. All of his clubs are at a much higher level than us. He will tear this league a new arsehole if he has the right attitude and gets good service. Because if some on here won the lottery , they would moan about having to" probably move house now " I think its a cracking signing, obviously scores goals in a certain system ala Denmark

Look at his poor goal scoring record in his first senior spell. Only 3 goals in 25 games. Someone must have seen potential! (OK. .Not too many Ronaldos around). pozbaird
Might be the first Dane, but not the first hyphenated player to turn out for St Mirren. That honour goes to f**k Sake-Cheesy.

Started one game for us - (RB?) looked decent but got injured and never appeared again! Where is he now? Had a ponytail IIRC. Jens Paeslack was fcuking outstanding at first - at Airdrie, and at home to Falkirk, from memory he played on despite suffering a broken leg... Maybe my memory is playing tricks? Anyway, welcome NB-M.
Wendy Saintss
Steven Thompson never managed to score double figures in league goals in a season until he joined us. Then he managed it 3 seasons in a row. Even at Dundee United, where he first made his name and was capped for Scotland, his best was 6 league goals in a season. His career best before joining Saints was 8 league goals in a season with Rangers. Before he joined St. Mirren, his league record was a goal approaching every 6 games. With St. Mirren it was a goal every 3.5 games. This guy's goal average in Holland suggest that he may be able to score goals in Scotland. Here's hoping! Stu
1 hour ago, Drew said: In that case, why haven't they mutually consented him? Might cost a few bob, but plenty of clubs do it. Maybe they couldn't reach an agreement, or maybe they're hoping someone will stump up cash for him and they'll recoup some of their investment. Whatever, it's pretty obvious they don't fancy him - similar to the guy from Juve we were trying to get. Hopefully he can do a job for us. He struggled in Poland because "he found the cold and air pollution difficult to manage" so hopefully he gets on a bit better here.

Was only in Poland for 3 months and didn't really get a chance: 9 of his 11 appearances were from the bench. He had a good season before in Holland's top league: 7 goals in 20 starts for a team (Zwolle) who narrowly avoided relegation is not bad. 1:10 into the video below is a goal he scored against Ajax. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MCFqf0BNP0I

portmahomack saint
Been reading up on this big fella he has been a bit unfortunate with injuries at crucial times, and with a wee bit of luck going his way he could be a really good signing for us. maybe even a permanent deal in Jan. as the Blues don't want him

Gets into a great position at 4.44 to have a pop at goal. And his work at 4.50 to set up the chance that he himself attempted at 5.01 was good. Remember, this is top flight Dutch football. A far better standard than what he's coming to. In true IOBS fashion, based on this clip, I declare him to be a superstar!

It's also worth remembering that, on Sunday, he'll be up against arguably, the second best defence in the league, so it might be worthwhile not writing him off after one game!
