Mcginn Speared On The Thigh During Training!

Recommended Posts

Seems like the whole thing was a carry on that went wrong. Shit happens... Last week I jokingly threw one of our cat's foam toy balls at Mrs Poz as she approached the living room. I never knew she was carrying a cup of tea, and she scalded her hand as the ball scudded off her napper.

Oops and all that.

St Mirren captain Steven Thompson was "mortified" after a foolish prank during a training session left a team mate with a gaping wound.

Thompson threw a spiked pole at 20-year-old John McGinn after he robbed him of the ball and it struck him on the thigh, causing severe bleeding.

"I'm just mortified by the whole thing," Thompson told the Scottish Sun on Monday.

"It was a daft prank. It wasn't like I threw the pole out of anger or anything like that. That's not what happened."

McGinn missed the 4-1 Premier League victory over Kilmarnock on Saturday and Thompson plans to make amends by giving him his win bonus.

Surely a note in the accident book and a word with the parents when they collect him is enough.

Fwiw the guy has been away from his 'normal duties ' for about seven months.

Perhaps the club should be looking at issuing a breach of contract whistling.gif

So you are advocating this as some sort of disciplinary measure?

I think Thompson should pay his wages until the end of the season as a fine.

He should be severely reprimanded for this.

What was he thinking throwing something like that ?what good was ever going to come of the supposed prank regardless of if people think it's a good thing the McGinn is not in the team.

Didn't an Arsenal player break an arm after a cup final when a team-mate lifted him over his shoulder but dropped him?

I don't see the need to see Thommo' fined or disciplined. Surely pulling him aside and having a word is all that is required, although I bet Thommo' feels terrible about it and doesn't really need told.
