Saint Garf
Players like Mallan and McAllister are going to move on at some point. Best case scenario for us is, they're sold, for a decent fee, to big clubs who don't need them quite yet and will allow them to be loaned back to us for the rest of the season. We get the cash in the door now, the players are off the wage bill, but we don't lose their abilities on the park.
Stu
We should have been looking to get McAllister tied up on a longer deal during the summer. No idea if we made an offer but it would be disappointing if we didn't at least try.

Yeah but we should have it done during the summer while he was still under the radar. Even Rae knew he would be a talent so should have been obvious to others. Ethan
If the club are producing youngsters and moving them on for decent money then it's all good. It will help us attract more talent and the revenue ploughed back into the team. While it's sad to see top talent leave it's what will ultimately get us back to the top. Mr Zo
And people say that our youth system isn't producing talent. The youth academy seems to be doing not too bad from where I'm sitting.Keep up the good work St Mirren. :-)

A reference to who? Hardie and Walsh and Shankland? Rae played McAllister last season before he was injured in the summer and before most of those guys were brought in. Stevie88
Seems to have went pretty quiet on the Mallan transfer front...
David Mc
It would do if we'd agreed a fee and wanted to close a couple of other deals before announcing we are cash laden/everyone moans we haven't brought a replacement in. div
This deal is currently dead. Barnsley won't meet our valuation. That could change of course but for the time being, Mallan stays.

Possibly a driver in their unwillingness to meet us.

JM1
I wonder with him currently staying if we'll get any new midfielders to come McGinn to our squad.
TopCat
Best news I've heard today. Let's get him on a new 3 year deal.!!!!! Mallan won't sign another contract with us. He will either leave for a transfer fee during his contract or a development fee at the end of it.
Stu
Perhaps we could get him to sign a new deal on the condition he'll be sold if we receive an offer above a certain amount. You know, like a gentlemen's agreement
thomsons dropped it
Barnsley Quote Barnsley have signed a Midfielder on loan from Leicester today for the rest of the season. Could be a sign Mallan will stay ???
