Now that the the Sugar Daddy clubs are bidding high six figure sums for players from the SPFL it will take all the profits from our European experience plus a little more to get a striker, if we can even find one!

And there is the issue 😪

Robbo has been very proactive in the market and to be fair has strengthened the squad prior to our Euro adventures 

Plainly up top we don't appear to have a 20 goal a year guy , but let's be honest we couldn't afford one if he existed 

We rely on the manager and staff to unearth a gem and cultivate from there - hoping that coaching leads to a decent productive output 

Not easy but suppose there where they earn their corn

With Hibs and Aberdeen now blowing us out the water we just have to wait and see if anything else transpires because we cannot live with either of those teams

Hen's teeth unfortunately. We couldn't afford an established goalscorer so we need to rely on scouting and luck. I think probably the latter more than the former.

Totally the money required for a decent goal scorer rules us out. That said I do believe the manager will want better options than he has already

I agree that a front man who can regularlty reach anything between 10 and 20 goals (in the league) is on the wish list, but as metioned above, unearthing the same is another matter. A foil to Olusanya would be perfect as I still think his pace frightens loads of defenders at our level and he may even benefit from a stronger, more efficient partner.

I'm still hopeful that James Scott will both improve and be dangerous, but I'm running out of patience with both Mikael Mandron and Jonah Ayunga. The former is slow about the field and his onlty real attribute seems to be his height, but to benefit from that you have to deliver constant quality crosses into the box at free kicks and corners. Jonah is slightly more mobile but not prolific (by any stretch of the imagination) which leaves us all frustrated.

We do need to unearth the gems, either through the academy or from some distant shores, as our scouting of the third and fourth tiers of English football is less likely to source them, as they will be snapped up by the Championship sides long before we get a sniff. Challenging for the top 6 and another European adventure might attract someone who sees us as a confidence building, frequently appearing option for a good player on the fringes.

The list of players that other sides would want is actually quite limited

Gogic, in defence or mid, is our most effective player in either area

O' Hara, in my mind, is almost always on the radar of bigger clubs, Olusanya would interest most of the SPFL and there are the two kids who are most likely drawing attention

Maybe we will get that 6 figure bid for CBM.  Between that and the money from the conference ties we could have enough for a striker with a reasonable chance of hitting 10-plus a season.  The final ball would have to improve massively for that to work though.

If anyone leaves for money, my bet would be on Sutherland and Fraser.  It would all be good money in the future and not much just now though

Not saying that any/all of these rumours are or aren't true but the club has been pretty decent recently and keeping everything in house until it's pretty well done and dusted. What has changed that the place is all of a sudden leaking like a sieve again or is a lot of this supposition 🤷‍♂️
