rutherglenbud
Newcastle are preparing a bid for John McGinn with Newcastle loaning john back to St Mirren for this season. There was two representatives from them tonight upto discuss this with gilmour. This is from a very good source who heard it from the middle man Spencer Downey tonight in the boardroom. This might be a good deal for both clubs if it happens.

windae cleaner
picked the wrong night to come see him ,he was pretty poor, hope the deal was signed before the display He had a couple of decent runs, one of which he beat 3 players to set up Reilly in the box He was very poor off the ball though just like our whole midfield
Murray7
£1m plus decent sell on clause. Eta: Haven't heard anything about the deal, just having a random guess at what we should be looking for. dakota7
Will believe it when I see it. If true any money should be used to bring in some experience to help our younger players out.
exiledfan
I won't be holding my breath on investment. Money will be used on running costs and directors dividends
Ayrshire Saints
No surprise if he moves before the window closes as he is playing as if his head has been turned. Newcastle would be a wonderful move for him if a little surprising. Would be a good deal all round.
garzo
if true - I would offer all this money to the board in return for a wholesale transfer of all their shares to a supporters trust.
Magic Monkey
We should probably set up a rumour mill for this sort of stuff. Get on it, Div.
pass pass pass
John played really well on saturday, didn't see much head turning tbh, wasn't at game last night so can't comment bout his head, maybe it'll stop spinning after the move
bazil85
He didn't play well last night same as Kenny and when they don't turn up unfortunately St Mirren don't turn up. I thought he was a bit greedy on the ball, at one point he beat couple players but instead of trying a simple pass he took on the third and lost the ball. Caught in possession a few times before that but to be fair to him he wasn't getting the service and every time he got the ball Hamilton had two guys on him straight away. Was it him that burst into the box when we were 2 down then squared the ball back only for it to be blasted over instead of shooting himself? My eyesight is horrific. Yes it was McGinn for Reilly I believe.

Why would they do that when they could take it anyway as the club owners?
Froggie
Last season I thought McGinn was coming onto a good game and rated him. Lately though, he appears to be a little too aggressive and has committed a lot of fouls. He is a bit slow so often has to lunge in when overrunning the ball. Still think he could be a good player but needs to smarten himself up and cut out the dirty stuff.

rutherglenbud
Think Newcastle might appeal to him and glad to know there is more than one Buddie in Rutherglen The greatest place only behind new st Mirren park! Would be a great move for both club and player hope it happens. Can't believe some of the stick the boy is taking after one average game
saint in exile
I rate McGinn very highly, but I thought last night was probably one of his worst ever games in the stripes. Ditto for McLean.

Both were very poor, but McGinn shades it.
Magic Monkey
Messi and Xavi would look shite if they didn't have Busquets, Mascherano etc behind them.
Griff
Newcastle probably have the money , time and coaching to develop Meatball , and would probably make money from the deal . Hopefully the money we make from the deal , will help keep us up this season.
Bart Simpson
I'd focus more attention to a bad team performance. McGinn had a few touches of magic even last night. As said above it's difficult to be a world beater when the rest of the team aren't playing... I accept there were a few mistakes but it speaks volumes for him if he has set the bar so high that that was his worst ever performance. Bart Simpson
To be completely honest I've been extremely surprised that he has flown under the radar for so long when other clubs' young talent is lauded in the media endlessly. He is a fantastic footballer. I hope we keep him for as long as possible, but Scotland call ups and beyond are definitely within his reach if he makes the right move and kicks on even further.
