kevo_smfc
How much did Accies get for Hendrie? The lad signed a pre contract so all they were due was a developement fee. Are you saying they got the 2 mill they thought they had banked? I heard closer to 1 million was agreed.

TopCat
Has it been OFFICIALLY stated what we got for Kenny? .... and I don't mean paper-talk No. Thankfully we have loads of posters on this forum who know the exact terms of the sale, and are therefore able to pass comment and judgement on it. windae cleaner
It's a great example of premier league money madness. It will all crash... WHU, much as I like them, are chucking money away having learnt little, it seems, from their flirt with the Icelandic bankers. Yes, Bankers. They've spent time and energy and money developing Kieran Sadlier into the fabulous talent GT has now secured, and just let him walk. It's a mad "business". Fat Sam has little time for developing youngsters but he's one of many down there Feel sorry for any youngster who is at a Premiership club they have little to no chance getting a game Talking to Boro fans they are in two minds whether it would be a good thing going up Their match tickets will double and some cases especially playing in Landan it will be treble

Dibbles old paperboy
If this is true it says more about WH's stupidity than Accies nuance. The exact same result as signing the lad for a development fee? Somebody down Lahndan way has been at the medicine cabinet methinks! BBC reported that it was a pre-contract that was agreed with West Ham and he will finish the season with Accies when his contract runs out. Accies are claiming they reached an agreement for compensation with West Ham... I wouldn't be surprised if this works out the same as the development fee they would have been due. Frank McGarvey' wonky legs
And yet the same man has taken a very young Accies player down south. Unless he thought he was paying cash for a game of snooker with a legend of the game.they just signed a very promising left back in Cresswell who looking at the Hamilton boy is never going replace. But I suppose Gareth Bale was signed as a left back and Spurs didnt do too bad there.
steve_the_saint
They got £1 million. Sold to West Ham then loaned back til the end of the season, which also happens to be the end of his contract. Quite incredible deal.I haven't seen this reported anywhere, only that west ham have signed him on a PCA. Why would west ham pay 1m for a player they could get for simuilar to what we got for McLean? A £1 million compensation package has been agreed between the two clubs which will prevent Hendrie from moving elsewhere, with Reading and Bournemouth previously linked with the player. Hendrie will remain at New Douglas Park for the remainder of the season, with the defender making the move to the Premier League for the start of the 2015/15 campaign. The left-back, who is out of contract with Accies at the end of the season, had been subject to a £2 million bid from West Ham last week according to club vice-chairman Ronnie MacDonald. However, Accies called off the deal - with MacDonald labelling the London club "shambolic." West Ham rekindled their interest in Hendrie however, with a deal now agreed that will send the left-back to London in the summer. I've swung both ways on this subject (Oooh err missus!) and I'm not quite sure if Accies have played a blinder or not over this transfer window. I reckon they're just reaping the benefit of being in the Top Six and having the top scorer in the division at the time, but I could be wrong. As far as I'm aware, the very fact he signed a pre contract agreement prevents the vultures coming a calling, let alone the likes of Bournemouth and Reading competing with a high flying W.H. for his signature. Is this a number picked out of the air by lazy journalists? As for the highlighted segment. It was reported that West Ham didn't follow up any original interest probably BECAUSE they would be able to get the lad in pre contract. Edinbuddie
I've seen him play against us twice, and I've seen him in live games on the telly. He's never been a standout on any occasion I've seen him. A very strange transfer!

stlucifer
Probably there were more clubs interested. Even that doesn't make sense. As he would be free to make his own decision it would be him who'd get the extra cash.
