Say Something Positive About St. Mirren..

Recommended Posts

1. Debt free club.

2. Brand new stadium with plenty of parking.

3. A stadium that when full creates a great atmosphere unlike a lot of clubs in the SPFL & Championship where their stadia look empty on match day.

4. A good Youth setup

5. A great loyal fan base.

Positive things about St Mirren...

Like it or not, our stadium is modern and easy to maintain. It is NOT the drain on resources and a daily battle to stop falling down that Love Street was.

We have a modern dedicated training complex.

We have been chosen as the home of the Scotland U21s.

We have some talented kids in Mallan, McGinn, Baird, Kelly, Naismith, Morgan and others.

We are in a large town with the POTENTIAL to increase gates and local interest.

We have an indoor airdome training facility.

We have good projects with kids going on.

We have a modern clean and welcoming corporate facility.

We have a void area prime for development.

We own land around our stadium.

We have a kit deal with a bespoke design facilty that in theory allows us to produce kits fans have input in.

We have an award winning pitch and groundsman.

Like them or not, we know the custodians and staff of our club by name, they are human, accessible, not faceless institutional investors or suchlike.

We have a decent, loyal fanbase, who care deeply about their club.

We have SMiSA and a Fan Council.

We aren't Sevco.

We aren't administration cheats like Livingston & Co.

Unfortunately, our custodians, for all the good done in the past, have been unsuccessfully trying to get out for over five years. They are self-confessed tired and out of ideas, which clearly reflects itself in utter nonsense like my signature text not even being addressed after two years, never mind the bigger stuff. They have presided over utterly shit managerial appointments and rubber-stamped some utterly shite signings, resulting in our relegation after nearly ten years as a top flight club and a major cup win only two years ago.

We will come back, but we sure as hell need new leadership in the boardroom and dressing room to do so.

I love our support who can't help themselves..................................wait. whistling.gif

We are a community club supported by legions of very partisan fans (witness 2013 Cup Semi-final) , we can boast a healthy away support even when we are on a losing run . .

We know that sometimes , sometimes , you have to retreat before you can come back stronger and more resilient . .

It is not for glory , or riches , nor religion but for Paisley Saint Mirren FC alone . We come back. .

If you want to feel proud to be a St.Mirren fan you need only watch the 'Marching In' video from a few years ago.

The amount of interesting information, great game footage, and interview stories make you realise what a big club we really are, and what we've achieved in our history, and is for me always what we should remember.

We're not one of Scottish football's lesser lights, nor should we ever accept that we are.

"St.Mirren's story through the ages has been one of struggle. Successful struggle for the most part, but struggle nevertheless. Every player who wears the black & white carries the hopes and aspirations of the supporters with him. And for those supporters, even in those season's when not much is going right, there are a few Saturdays when it all comes together, and it's all very much worthwhile..."
