Nigerian Panda
Let's say it as it should be. Why did we play high balls into the box for at least 60% of the game and the only time we score is when we bring on Sutton? We are a poor side, some players need a good kick up the arse, not good enough, no shape to the team no real threat to the opposition. Sorry to say, Long hard season ahead. Expected better, got a lot worse. It is a sad day when you are looking for a draw at home against your rivals who were actually the better side. Enough said! JJ McG
Terrible performance, Central midfield a huge worry for us, far too slow and nobody willing to put there foot on the ball and take responsibility.Rae needs a major rethink about his tactics, very very poor. Thorizaar
Woeful stuff today. Not surprising really given we started the game with only one new signing on the park. The same players that were abysmal most of last season were abysmal again today.

JJ McG
Sutton should be ahead of Shanks and Clarkson, we have decent wide players, get the ball wide, fire in crosses for Sutton and have either shanks or Clarkson feeding on the scraps. He offered far more in 20 minutes than the other 2 combined when they were on the park. When Quinn is fit he should be in ahead of Mallan, he was terrible again today. Even the simple passes were outwit his ability today. We desperately need Quinn back, he's easily our best central midfield player.

nosferatu
no need to panic there are obviously attacking options who were on the bench today, Quinn for midfield and 2 new centre backs it'll come good

Julian Banjos
Really disappointing stuff. Didn't get out the blocks and they hit the bar twice before their goal. Jack Baird lucky to stay on the park. Still looks as shaky as he did last season. Need to get Gordon or Mackenzie in there ASAP. Huffed and puffed after going behind. I thought they looked comfortable, and was surprised we managed to get an equaliser. As feared, the midfield looks ropey. Lost count of the number of misplaced passes. Stevie Mallan, who is supposed to be the main man, flattering to deceive yet again. The manager took a wild swing at an advertising board when he hooked a cross to the corner of the 18 yard box in injury time. Gallagher was poor as well. Thank goodness Morgan managed that one good run and cross for the goal. Problem is the way the manager has built his squad we've only really got Quinn to come in in the centre of the park. Andrew MacDonald from the U20's the only possible replacement today? Rae, the ex £1 million midfielder, has got to get them playing. The positive I suppose is, despite a shitey performance, we had the fire power to get the equaliser.

santaponsasaint
Absolutely pish. Don't blame any player. One to blame Mr Rae. His tactics were dreadful. 90 mins of watching the ball being hoofed up the park. People who thinking about going to Kirkcaldy are now saying no way are we spending 30 or 40 quid to watch those dreadful tactics. The only time we played some decent football we scored. Sorry Mr Rae want to see football not rugby.Sent from my SM-G900F using Black & White Army mobile app

Way too many simple passes were misplaced. Tackling was non existent and the defense can't clear a ball. It doesn't look as if Mallan and Hutton are on the same wavelength. If Morton hadn't sat back we were they're for the taking today.

Eaglesham saint
We were over run in mid field ,sort that out and we will be fine. What the f**k was that banner unfurled for---talk about egg on face we have cracking wingers and first time we get the byline cross and Sutton scores,I felt sorry for Kyle Hutton,he would win the ball and amallan was missing, He was surrounded by mortons midfielders. we were bullied all over the park.the room they had was unbelievable ,nobody closed down, never mind the world cup passes ,play it simple
zurich_allan
On the negative, that was a poor performance, struggled to get a foot on the ball and didn't seem to have a plan B. On the positive, we managed to grind out a draw in spite of the performance, and didn't lose concentration after scoring as we have been prone to doing. Thought Naismith and Irvine played well, everyone else was meh. Personally, his slip aside, I'd have given Irvine man of the match over Naismith, but close call either way. Onward and upward! Wilbur
Spoiler Grim stuff. First 20 minutes we were overrun and Morton could easily have been out of sight before half time. However lucky we may have been it is still most enjoyable to have conjured up an equaliser to deny them the victory. Is that now 50 years since they have beaten us ?? Our MOTM was Andy Webster (IMO). northstbuddie
Nothing in this performance to suggest that we will finish higher than mid table - we were fortunate to get a point today. As has been pointed out by many already, we have no-one in midfield able to control and direct the play. Someone said that we are too reliant on Mallan for creativity - maybe that's the problem. Whatever Stevie's strengths are they apparently do not include creativity and midfield guile. Perhaps the reason we seem to persist with the long ball through the middle is that we have no midfield to play through. Sadly, Morton were the much more competent all-round football team and have a much better chance of competing for a top-four place than us - based on today's performance. However, it is too early in the season to be making sweeping forecasts and at least we now have some more attacking options compared to last season. If we could just sort out the midfield... The very least i would expect is for our players to be able to find a team mate with a pass ! Mallan , Baird, Gallagher & Irvine need a kick up the backside for not being able to do the absolute basics today. Shanks should spend more time trying to win the ball rather than wining fouls with stupid dives. And Hutton ?? WTF was he doing today
Sonny
Well that was horrendous. Fault totally at the door of the manager. We play 2 strikers who cannot head a ball and 2 wingers who cannot head a ball and have one tactic which is to float aimless balls up to the front line where they immediately come back again. The forward line simply could not hold on to the ball putting the two man midfield and defence under constant pressure. And we had the same tactic throughout the game. Do we not have passing drills in training? No Plan B. We persisted with this throughout the game when it wasn't working. If this is the way we will play this season then we will be in the bottom four. Considering the players we have available we should be playing to feet and running at the opposition instead of floating balls in from our own half. Gallagher was totally woeful. I just do not see what he brings to the team. Irvine and Clarkson had really poor games also. Mallan had a bit of a stinker however the ball was floating over his head most of the time. Hutton could win a ball then panics when he has it. We effectively have a one man midfield who is expected to do it all. If we do not play it on the deck with the players we have then we will not progress. The 4-2-4 formation and long ball isn't working Mr Rae. . Drew
Awful game of football. I wouldn't give anyone pass marks aside from Sutton for his goal and at least looking interested. Rae got it very wrong today. Lets hope he has the Plan B that his predecessor was lacking. If not, we will do well to finish in the top half. With a healthy enough crowd, that was an opportunity to put on a bit of a a show and persuade people to come back. Instead, it was a disjointed, apathetic, and nervous display. Terrible stuff. northstbuddie
Says a lot about our midfield this afternoon when Langfield showed the best bit of skill in that area of the park when he sold a beauty of a dummy on Quitongo just a few yards from the centre line!
