Jack Ross has been pretty busy the last 24 hours with some good signings. Aye, Nisbet in particular (although a bit of a punt) sounds like a good bit of business. Would’ve taken him in a heartbeat. However, the transfer window is not shut and the season has not began yet... let's wait a few weeks to see where we are then !

Think if you are being honest regardless of who we sign we will be in our usual place that we have become accustomed. We could sign Messi and Ronaldo and we would still end up hovering around the bottom it's the St Mirren way unfortunately.

We could sign Messi and Ronaldo and we would still end up hovering around the bottom it's the St Mirren way unfortunately. Generally the positions teams finish in corresponds pretty closely to their average attendances with small variations and the odd big blip thrown in. Our system allows clubs to keep their home gate receipts. There is no splitting of these as happened in the past. This helps to emphasise the divide. Celtic and Rangers clearly have the largest crowds. The next 3 include Hibs, Hearts and Aberdeen. After that, there is more variance but in recent seasons Motherwell, Kilmarnock and ourselves are in the next group followed by a bottom four of Ross Countyl, St Johnstone, Hamilton and Livvy. Our attendances have been rising, partly due to promotion and staying up and partly by the controversial decision regarding the allocation of tickets for the visits of the OF. My view is that we have punched about right for our weight. Hearts haven't. St J, Ross County, Hamilton and Livvy have punched above theirs. Reaching the top 6 is not unrealistic but might take a season or two more.

They average around 500 more per game. Only because they can pack a lot more old firm fans into there ground, and are also based more centrally so would normally attract more away fans than us, we have a bigger home support than Motherwell even though they've been top 6 most years of late... No disagreement. In brief, the numbers through the gate include away fans. Hence the decisions made by St Johnstone and ourselves to drive income. Everyone is aware of him being a hard tackler prone to the odd red card although most of the time he flies under the radar (of the referee at least) of being a dirty bastard. He is also a decent player and got a number of MOTM performances for Accies last season. We are going to miss a bit of bite in the middle of the pitch if Stephen McGinn leaves and Gogic could fill that gap. Great pity that we didn’t get him earlier first time around. Missed him when he was absent. Unlikely, but perhaps he’ll change his mind and join us permanently? Said more in Hope than expectation.
