Mcginn Speared On The Thigh During Training!

Recommended Posts

Can't see him playing championship football with us a Onform John Mcginn would walk into most teams in country

Totally agree, there's no getting away from the fact he's been out of sort's this season but

who hasn't, a season like this would drain the confidence out of any young player, the John

McGinn we saw the previous 2 seasons would stroll into any team in the country (Celtic apart)..

as an act of non-consensual violence, resulting in an injury that has kept the employee away from his normal duties for more than 7 days, this incident is reportable under the RIDDOR regulations 2013.

Hopefully the club has not landed in trouble with the HSE over this

There's a few we need riddor.

John McGinn when on form is decent, nothing more, he wouldn't get a sniff at teams like Aberdeen, Kenny McLean is on another level to him ability wise.

Have to strongly disagree.

He was a revelation when he first broke into the team and last season. He was very consistent, he has been due a dip in form and sadly for us it has came at the worst time, just like Naismith and Kelly. To write him off when he is still so young is madness. I think a season in the Championship wouldn't harm the youngsters development like it would have many years ago.

Remember Kenny McLean was very inconsistent for us , people are letting 2 months of sensational form cloud their judgement on him for the previous 3 seasons. In fact he used to take some amount of abuse on this forum.

I’m assuming it was one of the poles with a proper metal spike on the bottom to stick into the ground and not just a plastic end.. if so it’s idiotic of your club captain to be throwing these at people even it is a joke. Worked out well though, I wonder if the absence of McGinn contributed to our performance on Saturday.

Yep, it was Thommo. He is reported as saying, "The pole went about a centimetre into his leg and he's obviously got quite a bad injury. The word seems to be he'll be out for around three weeks. I'm just mortified by the whole thing. It was a daft prank."

However, according to STV's report, "As detailed by Robert Grieve's fine story in the Scottish Sun, an innocent training ground prank saw midfield star John McGinn with a training ground pole through his leg courtesy of Steven Thompson." (FFS - not like them to exaggerate!)

Thommo also says, "Its a disaster" but really, did we miss wee John on Saturday? Like him as a player but he has been ordinary this season.

No. The club has a get out clause.

We've been RIDDOR-less for months.

Surely a note in the accident book and a word with the parents when they collect him is enough.

Fwiw the guy has been away from his 'normal duties ' for about seven months.

Perhaps the club should be looking at issuing a breach of contract whistling.gif
