Welcome Zach and good luck between the sticks in your time at St Mirren, there's a decent squad around the place and a great coach in JL.

I'm delighted for him and thought he played really well, and has done so far this season, but he only actually made one save of note (two at a push). What I thought was telling from the game on Saturday was how well we defended our box, almost every attempt from Motherwell was from outside the penalty area.

I hope we can keep him for a few seasons. Win win both us and Zach. We get stability between the sticks and Zach gets first team football and development from Langfield who seems an outstanding coach.

But what an amazing, match-saving save to pull off!!! :o

Hemming > Carson

Too early.

tough call.

Saints’ve been blessed with goalies in recent years.

for which I blame that guy that came fae Aiberdeen - via the Imperial Bar…. :)

even though he did ok, something about Carson just didn't sit right with me, a decent goalie, but perhaps not such a nice man, and for me way behind both his predecessors in ability.

I have a slightly different take on the subject.

Re Carson I thought he was an inch or two too small and thus struggled a wee bit on crossed balls.

Re Hemming, I think he has good reactions, but is nervous on committing to crossed balls in a slightly crowded box.

I will reserve judgement up to Christmas who I prefer.

All entitled to our opinions 59er but I thought, on Saturday at least, he commanded his box really well and committed to and came for every cross ball.

Welcome back but slightly confused by this, unless balcombe is on his way?
personally I don’t see a great deal of difference in their ability although I don’t think balcombe is that tall for a keeper.

Both good shot stoppers. Both poor at crosses.

I thought immediately that Balcombe was out the door. Given the timing, I don't believe he's been recalled. Saints must have had this preplanned unless they are totally lucky.

I do agree that the abilities are very similar but Zac is a bit taller and, maybe it's rose coloured specs, I do think he commanded his box somewhat better. Time will tell but it has to be remembered he was in the team that got us into Europe.

The defence of last season was playing significantly better than this year's shambles
