Bud the Baker 8,969 Report post Posted February 22, 2014 Call me a cynic (go on) but I reckon the guy we've the verbal with is trying to use it to broker a better deal elsewhere. I'd rather have a Hugh Murray type for the rest of the season than someone viewing the club as a last resort. Said this on the morning of Djemba's signature, like many I was caught up a bit in the hype and hoped he was still near the top of his game, unfortunately it looks like my earlier sceptical view was closer to the mark - go on Djemba prove me wrong!
Edinbuddie 1,324 Report post Posted March 20, 2014 Yeovil Town rule out move for St Mirren's Blackburn Rovers, Ipswich Town and Rangers target Kenny McLean Read more: http://www.westerngazette.co.uk/Yeovil-Town-rule-St-Mirren-s-Blackburn-Rovers/story-20833184-detail/story.html#ixzz2wVt7bpWc EVERY other club in the Football League would need to be linked to St Mirren’s Kenny McLean before Yeovil Town stood a chance, according to loan-seeking manager Gary Johnson. The Glovers have recently been linked to the highly-rated midfielder who is out of contract in the summer and yet to agree new deal with the Buddies. However, Johnson has ruled out a move for Scottish under-21 international McLean with finances and a potential transfer fee likely to knock them out of the running. The boss said: “It’s nice to be linked. If you’re linked with Barnet – and I’m doing them an injustice – then it’s a bit different. “It’s good that teams are linking us with players moving on. That particular player will cost someone £350,000. I think they will have to link 91 other League clubs before they link us.”

JJ McG 4,267 Report post Posted March 23, 2014 Scottish or English Championship, JJ? English Drew and seemingly he is after 4k a week.
BuddieinEK 9,174 Report post Posted March 23, 2014 English Drew and seemingly he is after 4k a week. I like him as a player and see so much potential if used properly... but at our level, he's not a 4k player.
Drew 21,117 Report post Posted March 23, 2014 That'll be him away then. Fair enough. As BinEK says, he isn't worth £4K a week, even if he had that kind of money.
davidg 8,456 Report post Posted March 23, 2014 I'd reckon he's more interested in the championship rather than championship clubs interested in him. He was gagging to move to that level in January but no takers. Good player when played through the middle but I think he'd struggle at that level.
athens-saint 69 Report post Posted March 23, 2014 16k a month LOL. This is a joke, right?
slapsalmon 865 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 The problem is though, in football terms 4k a week isn't actually that big a wage while most of us on here who burst our arse all week can only dream of a wage like that. The world is broken.
saint in exile 2,296 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 He'll pick up a gig at Doncaster or some club like that and get 4K a week easy.
foxbar_bud 1,716 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 Good luck to him then if he is looking for that amount of cash. Will always be remembered for 'that' goal. Hasnt hit the hights consistantly this season. Like DavidG says i think he would struggle in the championship.
BaldyOzBud 1,426 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 His form like most players at our level is up and down, but his performances for us last season, particularly in the semi final, and his goal in the final means that I will always consider him to be one of the Legends of the glorious 2013 league cup triumph. All the best Connor, and if you can earn that money in the championship then well done.
Barney63 215 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 He'd probably do better with better players around him. Could he step up and not sink? I think so. Look at Dummet, currently playing in the EPL. Or First Division, as it should properly be called.

JJ McG 4,267 Report post Posted April 2, 2014 Rotherham utd after Naismith and mcginn McGinn will be going to a far bigger club than Rotherham.
billyg 5,866 Report post Posted April 2, 2014 Rotherham utd after Naismith and mcginn Unlikely I would have thought , if they were out of contract and under 21 it would cost them 350k for each , but as they're on long contracts then you're looking at £1m the pair , at least !
elvis 2,916 Report post Posted April 2, 2014 Just saying it was in the Herald there after Chris Boyd as well seemingly they have a shot at getting into the championship .
JM1 1,856 Report post Posted April 2, 2014 Is McGinn out of contract next summer? The club may decide to cash in this summer rather than lose him for a much lower development fee.
Luther G. Presley 1,021 Report post Posted April 2, 2014 f**king Rotherham, is that really a step up for someone playing for St Mirren, honestly is this how far Scottish football has fallen?
