billyg Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 18 month deal , and straight into tonight's squad by the look of it ! Quote
Sonny Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 A big welcome to our new striker who may be involved tonight. St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Alex Greive from Birkenhead United subject to international clearance. The 22-year-old forward joins the club on an 18-month deal from the New Zealand side with whom we announced a strategic partnership with last year. Alex was a part of the New Zealand Olympic Provisional squad for the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games and scored 25 goals in 33 games in 2021 – including three hat-tricks in a row. His performances last year earned him a place in the ISPS Handa Men’s Premiership Team of the Season as well as being named the regional MVP (Northern League) in the New Zealand National League. bazil85 Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 16 goals in his most recent 16 games at his last club securing them a promotion play-off spot to the NZ top flight, great stuff. Quote
shull Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 Hat trick for Alex tonight in a 3-2 win. Will outdo Watt's debut Welcome Sir. Quote
magnus Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 Wishing Alex all the best. Will be watching and wondering if this looks like a step up from Danny Mullen, Cody Cooke and Jon Obika. Quote

I scored three hat-tricks in a row up the top of Saucel Hill during the summer holidays in 1974. One of the goals was in off the jumpers. Never got me a call up. Quote
portmahomack saint Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 If he doesn't make the grade Paisley rugby are always looking for players 🏈 Quote
santaponsasaint Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 Good luck Alex. Welcome to Paisley. Coys Quote
StanleySaint Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 Welcome Alex, doesn't matter where we found him as long as he knows how to put the ball in the net he'll be a welcome addition, something different to the rest of the strikers sounds promising 🤔 Quote
W6er Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 Scoring goals is a talent, regardless of the level. This boy looks good. If he scores a hat full, will we not regret taking him on for just 18 months? Quote
southsidebud Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 Welcome Alex and good luck. Hopefully he gets a run out tonight - it would be good to see things get freshened up a bit tonightSent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk Quote
Balmullo Bud Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 He obviously won’t get the same space and time over here but looks to have a good touch, vision and composure in front of goal. Probably a couple of years younger in these clips too. Still young so be one for the future if he kicks on. I know you can’t judge too much from these video compilations but Goodie obviously sees something in him. Fingers crossed it’s a good move for him and us. Welcome to the Buddies Alex and awe the best. Quote
stlucifer Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 "He's a little bit different to some of the other strikers we have at the moment". Jim. You mean he actually scores goals? We'll soon knock that out of him. Welcome aboard Alex Quote

munoz Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 I thought the new boy looked decent in his brief appearance tonight. Quote
djchapsticks Posted January 23, 2022 Report Posted January 23, 2022 He looked really sharp in the 25 minutes he got for us yesterday. One moment in particular where he skinned 3 Ayr players before getting hauled down and drawing a booking was excellent. He's come straight in and became our 2nd or 3rd choice forward ahead of both Erwin and Main which says it all for their prospects with us. Quote

If he didn’t get hauled back yesterday he was on for a shot. My boy and I both thought he deserved a goal yesterday.Subject to the game dynamic on Tuesday could be very useful if brought on as a sub - may be a slight risk to start him.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
djchapsticks Posted January 28, 2022 Report Posted January 28, 2022 Won't be in squad tomorrow as he made his debut for New Zealand earlier. Good on the lad. Quote

Aye, when New Zealand were pumped 3-1 by Jordan, and he came on as a sub. Good on him but the continued unwarranted praise is rather embarrassing, to say the least. Quote
