TopCat
FT 0-2Said at half time I expected Dundee to come out roaring second half, well they certainly surprised me. They came out, rolled over and purred while we tickled their tummies. First half was a bit backs to the wall and fortunate, second half we absolutely deserved it. 0-2 a fair reflection on the game really. Can't find a poor performer in the team, they were all magnificent. Special commendations to Baird, Mallan, Sutton, O'Brien and Storie, outstanding. Also credit to the manager. I thought he got the team and tactics spot on.Wary of calling this a turning point with regards to the league form though, we've been burnt in that sense already this seasonOh and, we are a shower of Paisley bastards and we are going to win the cup. TPAFKA Jersey 2
Only saw the second half but was very impressed. Defence looked very solid as did the big keeper and always looked dangerous on the break. Hopefully the turning point. discodave
Well done Saints, great performance against an uninspiring Dundee side. Fans were terrific and there will be a few hoarse voices tonight. On another note having just watched on TV it makes you appreciate the great quality we are served up for our home games. djchapsticks
Wary of false dawns but this one is hopefully different. Plenty of faces in that squad now who don't have the downtrodden aura of getting beaten week in week out. To make so many changes and to gel quite so quickly in a match that we had all written off is certainly uplifting. Let's f**king do this Saints! northstbuddie
Well done guys - a glimmer of light at long last. However, as Saints supporters, we have been here before, but are never the less hoping that this level of performance can be maintained in the league. TopCat
Having that defensive midfielder in Storie makes such a difference to the whole team.Having someone doing the dirty work behind him allows Mallan to get forward and attack teams. That's what's happened today, Steven was allowed to get on the front foot and as a result he dominated the game. Dundee and McGowan didn't know how to deal with him. Not bad for someone who was supposedly out of the game with an illness yesterday! This season he hasn't had that piano carrier behind and as a result his game has suffered. If he stays and him and Storie can keep up that partnership we will continue to win games. Fear he may have played his last game for us though.
